Full Job Description
The Business Unit Manager is responsible for managing, leading, and ensuring profitability of all aspects of the business units' profit and loss statements (P/L). This position will be tasked with developing and implementing sound business strategies ensuring profitable revenue growth and margin improvement.

Responsibilities of Position:
  • Creates and owns the annual regional P&L: GP budget, headcount model, organizational design across five functions, strategies by service line and vertical, and end-of-year projections
  • Publishes monthly GP results (new + retained + growth) versus budget with clear variance drivers. Owns the weekly and monthly scoreboard that drives all decisions-pipeline status, retention cohorts, margin performance, commission payouts, staffing gaps, and strategic progress to Senior Management
  • Establishes and enforces margin floors by service line and approves every below-floor deal with documented business case and recovery plan. Will ensure new-business average deal margins remain healthy and protect the spread across the entire portfolio
  • Owns the account retention target by conducting regular account-health reviews with the AM Team Lead, activating recovery plans on at-risk accounts, and monitoring cohort-level churn and margin erosion. Protects the recurring revenue annuity that funds the entire organization
  • Partners with the Sales manager to set quotas, manage pipeline discipline, review attainment, coach significant deals, and ensure win-rate targets are met. Governs all sales commissions, approve exceptions, and enforce clawback policies to maintain plan integrity
  • Orchestrates the seamless transition of new customers from Sales to Account Management, including service setup, initial delivery validation, and go-live issue resolution. Serves as the primary integrator across all five functions to ensure they work as one cohesive unit
  • Ensures adequate vendor coverage across service lines and territories, manages vendor performance through regular scorecard review, identifies cost-reduction opportunities, and monitors vendor compliance and service redundancy
  • Recruits and develops the leadership team across all five functions, conducts regular performance reviews, identifies promotion-ready talent, manages under performance, and builds succession plans to ensure organizational continuity
  • Owns compliance with regulated-waste requirements, ensures every deal follows the competitive-bidding process, certifies contract hygiene and insurance adequacy
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility:
  • This position will manage 1-10 employees
  • This position will oversee and direct other managers

Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position:
  • Minimum 5 years of prior management experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with and the analysis of profit and loss statements
  • Experience in developing and executing business strategies
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales or related field required, Masters Degree preferred

Physical Requirements in a Regular Workday:
  • Rarely lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 35 lbs
  • Frequently working inside
  • Rarely working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditions
  • Rarely working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter
