Job Purpose

The IT Liaison serves as the primary connection between Production Engineering Business Unit (PEBU) departments and Honda Development & Manufacturing of America(HDMA) IT, ensuring reliable, standardized delivery of IT systems, software, and support across diverse manufacturing operations in North America. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining software packaging standards, leading structured deployment processes for associates, and addressing systemic IT issues through data-driven analysis and countermeasures. The IT Liaison drives cross-functional collaboration and prioritization of IT needs, while establishing and managing governance, training programs, and organizational support structures. Additionally, the role leads the development and execution of the PEBU IT strategy, benchmarking best practices and aligning initiatives with business leadership objectives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Act as the PEBU primary contact for IT related systemic issues. Complete situation appraisal and countermeasure plans for any gaps. Develop and implement standard processes in coordination with HDMA and Americal Honda Motor (AHM) IT.
  • Install software packages on the hardware of all new hire / transfer associates. Create, maintain, and implement a standard process for the installation process that follows all IT standard software policies.
  • Lead the PEBU IT training program for IT systems and processes. Create and maintain training plans for different roles. (ex. hiring managers or new hires).
  • Establish and lead the PEBU IT strategy and long term road map. Create, maintain, and implement the organizational support structures and activity plans. Set the priority of long term and strategic IT initiatives. Benchmark other business units. Gain approval with BUL for the strategy with regular updates.
  • Establish and lead a cross functional team between PEBU Departments and HDMA and AHM IT with regular cadence meetings to address department IT issues with added focus of short term and operational issues. Set priority of activity for PEBU.
  • Create, maintain, and implement standard software packaging profiles for standard roles in each group/unit/department. Must consider the unique needs of each area given PEBU's support of nearly all manufacturing areas in all the North American plants.


Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

Minimum Experience:
  • 8+ years' experience in business systems or IT generalist role.

Other Job-Specific Skills:
  • Experience working on cross functional teams to implement solutions
  • Knowledge of the activities, tasks, deliverables and techniques for documenting current business processes; ability to identify problems, opportunities, and re-engineering processes for improvement.
  • Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner


Working Conditions

  • Minimal travel (
  • Onsite role (100% onsite expectation, with flexibility for up to 20% work from home) in open office environment.
  • Occasional support to plant operations, requiring associate being comfortable on plant floor and other production areas.
