Job Summary
The Business Systems Analyst works closely with Production, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Quality, Finance, Sales, and Operations teams to support, optimize, and expand Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and related business applications. The position serves as a functional subject matter expert for Business Central manufacturing and supply chain processes and partners with the Systems and Analytics team to improve business processes, system utilization, data quality, reporting, and operational visibility.
The ideal candidate combines strong Business Central (or comparable ERP) knowledge with practical manufacturing experience and the ability to translate business requirements into effective ERP solutions. Experience with Power BI and manufacturing analytics is highly desirable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Serve as a functional subject matter expert for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, with emphasis on manufacturing, production planning, inventory, warehouse management, purchasing, supply chain, and finance.
• Provide Level I/II application support, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and user guidance for Business Central and integrated business applications.
• Analyze manufacturing and business processes and recommend improvements to Business Central configuration, workflows, reporting, and supporting applications.
• Support inventory and warehouse processes including locations, bins, item tracking, lot/serial tracking, warehouse movements, receiving, picking, shipping, and inventory accuracy.
• Partner with Production, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, and Operations to identify opportunities to improve process efficiency, data accuracy, inventory control, costing, and production visibility.
• Gather and document business requirements; perform GAP/FIT analysis; translate requirements into Business Central solutions; and participate in solution design.
• Configure and maintain Business Central using standard application functionality, configuration packages, workflows, permission sets, and supported extensions and AppSource applications.
• Perform testing for Microsoft updates, application changes, extensions, integrations, and major releases; help coordinate user acceptance testing and document results.
• Support integrations between Business Central and manufacturing technologies and business applications, including MES, SCADA, EDI, barcode/RF scanning, shipping, quality, and other third-party systems.
• Analyze Business Central transactions and data to identify process issues, inventory discrepancies, costing problems, and operational inefficiencies.
• Partner with the department stakeholders to define data requirements, and analytical solutions using Business Central and Power BI.
• Participate in ERP and business systems projects from requirements gathering through testing, implementation, training, and post-go-live support.
• Maintain clear application documentation, process documentation, training materials, and support records in the organization's support system.
• Collaborate with Microsoft, implementation partners, contractors, and third-party vendors to resolve application, integration, and process issues.
• Advocate for Operations users in process design, application configuration, technology selection, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Qualifications
• 3+ years of functional experience supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Microsoft Dynamics NAV, with strong preference for current Business Central SaaS experience.
• Hands-on experience applying ERP systems to manufacturing operations.
• Strong functional knowledge of Business Central manufacturing, inventory, warehouse management, purchasing, supply chain, and/or finance.
• Experience troubleshooting ERP transactions, configuration issues, integrations, reporting issues, and data problems.
• Experience with requirements gathering, business process analysis, GAP/FIT analysis, UAT, system testing, documentation, and user support.
• Working knowledge of ERP integrations, file imports/exports, EDI processes, APIs/web services, and third-party applications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholder requests.
• Practical knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, and common enterprise IT concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience developing and maintaining reports and dashboards.
• Experience using Business Central data as a source for Power BI reporting and analytics.
• Experience with Power BI Service, workspaces, security, deployment, and report lifecycle management.
• Working knowledge of SQL or other data sources used to supplement Business Central data.

• This position supports a manufacturing environment where Business Central is a core business system connecting production, supply chain, inventory, warehouse, finance, and operational processes. The successful candidate should be comfortable working with both business users and technical teams and should have an interest in understanding how ERP data and processes affect day-to-day manufacturing operations.
Work Environment
