Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design of significant enterprise projects.
  • Advise teams on technical design challenges and provide expert solutions.
  • Assist in resolving complex production issues within the organization.
  • Mentor junior team members and help develop their technical skills.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of new digital technologies and applications.
  • Collaborate across multiple teams, including digital marketing, IT, and application development.
  • Oversee digital business development initiatives and ensure alignment with enterprise goals.

Full Job Description
Provide leadership at the enterprise level for the technical design of significant projects. Aeras of responsibility include: Digital Content, Digital Business Development, Business Readiness, Digital Customer Continuity, Digital Marketing, Digital Product Development, Innovation, Regional IT, Information Security International, Application Development, Field IT, Application Development International, Architecture, Architecture & Application Development International. Serve as an expert resource to advise other teams and recommend solutions to technical design problems. Lead and/or assist in resolution of complex production problems. Mentor development in less senior positions. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or 3 years of work experience in information technology or engineering environment. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree or equivalent* in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or 5 years of work experience in information technology or engineering environment in lieu of a Master's degree plus 3 years of experience. The position requires experience with: Cloud native application development using Spring Boot and related tools; Design, implement and maintain large enterprise systems and projects; DevOps and CI CD pipelines in GitHub actions and Jenkins; Testing with frameworks like TDD and BDD and tools Wiremock, JMeter, Mockito and Postman; Production monitoring and alerting using tools like Splunk and AppDynamics; Azure Spring Cloud and Azure Kubernetes Services; Skilled at leading/assisting in the resolution of complex production problems. This position will be hybrid in Collierville, TN and candidates must live within a 50- mile radius. This position is hybrid, meaning that employees will be required to work at a FedEx office location up to several times per week. *Employer will accept one (1) year of directly related experience in lieu of one (1) year of education.*
