Director, Structured Finance Business & Relationship Management - US CMBS

Fitch Ratings is currently seeking a Director of Structured Finance Business & Relationship Management - US CMBS based out of our New York office.

About the Team

The US CMBS Business Relationship Management team focuses on building, developing, and maintaining relationships with issuers and bankers to expand our CMBS/CRE business and support growth in our ratings business.

How You'll Make an Impact

Business Development & Opportunity Generation
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities by leveraging relationships, market intelligence, and coverage gap analysis.
  • Support efforts to grow ratings mandates across the CMBS market.
  • Assist with engagement agreements, fee discussions, and business-development initiatives.
  • Contribute to external presentations, marketing efforts, and outreach campaigns designed to strengthen Fitch's market position.

External Relationship Management
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective issuers, bankers, and other market participants.
  • Engage regularly with market contacts to strengthen relationships, support client retention, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Respond to client questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with senior colleagues and analytical teams to deliver a high-quality client experience.

Market & Pipeline Analysis
  • Analyze market activity, pipeline reporting, and market share trends to support business-development priorities.
  • Monitor developments in the CMBS market and broader structured finance sector.
  • Maintain accurate forecasts, pipeline reporting, and CRM records.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to support team planning and business objectives.

Marketing, Events & Collaboration
  • Assist in developing marketing materials, presentations, and other external-facing content.
  • Partner with Marketing and Events teams on conferences, client events, and industry engagement activities.
  • Build strong internal relationships across Fitch to leverage expertise and support business-development efforts.


You May Be a Good Fit If
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Approximately 5-8 years of relevant experience within CMBS, structured finance, banking, capital markets, commercial real estate finance, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in relationship management, business development, account management, or opportunity generation.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets and the factors affecting structured finance issuers and investors.
  • An energetic, proactive approach and willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings and industry conferences.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM systems is a plus.

FOR NEW YORK ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $150,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch's total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
