This job offers the opportunity to work from home as part of a hybrid work arrangement. This arrangement will allow you to work some days at a TCHC work location and the rest of the time from home. The amount of time required to work at a TCHC work location is flexible, while considering operational and service delivery requirements.
Make a difference Reporting to the Manager of Strategy, Facilities Management, the Business Planner develops and supports initiatives and manages projects that further Toronto Community Housing's strategic and restructuring goals in a manner that supports TCHC's tenant focused culture. They are responsible for coordinating a variety of projects associated with the FM initiatives, including HoMES (Yardi) sustainment. They are responsible for identifying emerging problems and proposing solutions to senior management and the executive team. The work environment is fast-paced and collegial, and the Business Planner is expected to be solutions-focused and collaborative, and to exercise sound judgement at all times. What you'll do- Partner with the Facilities Management Leadership teams to develop and advance performance and quality improvement initiatives
- Develop and implement standardized reports and dashboards for various levels of the Facilities Management Leadership teams.
- Implement and evaluate process improvement initiatives across the Facilities Management divisions to provide oversight and administration of service program and contracts;
- Plan, co-ordinate, communicate, monitor, and report on the implementation of strategic initiatives
- Develop recommendations to improve business processes in support of building operations and maintenance
- Project manage the ongoing sustainment and enhancement of the HoMES (Yardi) platform through stabilization, optimization, and digitization initiatives to strengthen data integrity, reporting, and business processes. Prepare regular (e.g. monthly, quarterly, annual) reports outlining the program and contract expenditures against approved award upset limit and fiscal budget;
- Leverage the appropriate technology solution to support project management and financial reconciliation activities.
- Collaborate with Facilities Management and corporate support teams to support effective change management, training, and communication
- Support a reporting system that includes data and performance information on service metrics
- Conduct research on best practices and maintains up to date knowledge about best-practices across the business unit and facilities management and translates it into the TCHC context
- Ensure initiatives are delivered in accordance with internal, resident, shareholder, or other requirements
- Lead related business intelligence and data analytics projects for the organization
- Develop reports, papers, briefing notes, and presentations for internal use and to communicate to stakeholders
What you'll need- Post-secondary education (graduate degree preferred) in business or public administration or other relevant field (e.g. public policy, law, communications, social policy)
- 5 years of experience in a large and multi-divisional public sector/non-profit organization in one or more of the following areas: policy analysis or development, performance measurement, Financial analysis, market research, strategic planning, creation and monitoring of accountability systems.
- Demonstrated experience in data analytics, performance measurement, and business intelligence in an organization with large-scale enterprise data.
- Experience with data mining, visualization and storytelling
- Proficiency with computerized business applications including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database software applications.
- Proven ability to reconcile, interpret, and summarize financial information and performance measures.
- Proven ability to analyze and interpret data, prepare reports and statements.
- Excellent project management, conflict resolution and organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation skills
