Full Job Description
As a Business Manager in SPB, you will own end-to-end business performance, develop category strategies, and drive profitable growth through data-driven decision making. You will work cross-functionally with teams across Product Development, Design, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, and Retail to build compelling assortments, optimize customer value, and execute strategic initiatives.

This role requires a leader who combines strong business judgment, analytical rigor, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguous environments, earns trust across diverse stakeholder groups, and consistently delivers measurable business results.

Key job responsibilities
• Own end-to-end business performance for a portfolio of Softlines Private Brands categories, including revenue growth, profitability, customer experience, and operational metrics.
• Develop and execute annual operating plans (OP1/OP2), establishing clear financial commitments, strategic priorities, and mechanisms to deliver results.
• Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews, identifying performance drivers, risks, and opportunities while driving actions to achieve business goals.
• Define and execute category growth strategies informed by customer insights, market trends, competitive dynamics, and financial performance.
• Partner with Product Development and cross-functional teams to build differentiated assortments that improve selection, customer acquisition, and repeat purchase.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Planning, and Inventory teams to improve in-stock performance, optimize inventory health, and manage working capital effectively.
• Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and scalable mechanisms that improve business efficiency and decision making.
• Influence senior leaders through written narratives, business reviews, and strategic recommendations grounded in data and customer insights.

About the team

The North America Softlines Private Brands team operates as its own GL within Core Retail Fashion and Fitness, managing a diverse portfolio of owned brands and product categories. Business Managers serve as general managers for their businesses, balancing customer experience, financial performance, inventory management, product strategy, and operational excellence. Success in this role requires close partnership across Retail, Amazon Private Brands, Finance, Product Development, Supply Chain, and Marketing teams to deliver compelling products and sustainable growth.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of with Excel experience

- 5+ years of retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting with negotiations and delivering results experience

- Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience

- Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience managing large data sets and utilizing to drive performance and process improvements

- Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development

- Usage of generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency, with a willingness to learn effective prompting and evaluation practices

- Ability to recognize opportunities where generative AI could enhance products, workflows, or customer experiences

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
