Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Business Manager III Spvr for the Department of Chemical Biology.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Provides administrative support to faculty, students and staff, organizing, coordinating and supervising daily operations and special projects.
- Oversees faculty appointments, reappointments, and promotions, and organizing department recruitment efforts.
- Manages and supervises departmental business activities including finance, budget, space and facilities planning, purchasing and academic support.
- Organizes and administrates faculty grants, including preparation of grant budgets and overseeing the preparation of applications and contracts; grant accounting, grant administration (pre-award, post-award and contracts).
- Liaisons with faculty, granting agencies, Research and Sponsored Programs, Research Financial Services, and external institutions and monitors fiscal compliance and enforces applicable regulations.
- Acts as a liaison to ensure the integration of department business activities with corresponding functions at the Departmental, School and University level, and supports in preparation of Departmental, School, and University-wide reports.
- Handles the hiring, training and supervising department staff.
- Manages the coordination of J-1, H-1B and other visa requests.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and understanding of general accounting principles and practices.
- A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in financial/accounting function.
Certifications/LicensesRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Excellent communication skills.
- Computer literacy.
Preferred Qualifications - Knowledge of Rutgers University accounting procedures and practices.
- Proficient with Mac and PC.
