JOB DESCRIPTION:

Audubon is currently seeking a Business Manager, responsible for supporting the operational, financial, and administrative functions of the EPC Construction Business Unit. This role serves as the primary liaison between project management, operations, accounting, human resources, procurement, and executive leadership. The Business Manager oversees business operations including project administration, financial tracking, workforce support, equipment coordination, compliance, reporting, and continuous process improvement while enabling Project Managers and Operations Leadership to focus on successful project execution.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist Project Managers in managing receivables and client billing.
  • Monitor overhead (OHD) expenses and departmental operating budgets.
  • Assist in preparing monthly business unit reports and operational dashboards.
  • Assist leadership with annual budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Coordinate onboarding process for all craft employees.
  • Manage recruiting lists and workforce planning.
  • Manage apprenticeship program.
  • Manage prevailing wage (PWA) reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate annual compliance training.
  • Support performance review process for administrative personnel.
  • Coordinate payroll corrections.
  • Track equipment & fuel utilization.
  • Manage lease vehicles including:
    • Maintenance
    • Registration
    • Insurance
    • Fuel cards
    • Billing
    • Cost allocation
  • Assist HR with DOT records and compliance.
  • Complete and submit Capital Expenditure Requests (CapEx).
  • Maintain equipment inventory records.
  • Maintain contractor licensing records.
  • Coordinate insurance documentation.
  • Manage licensing, permits, registrations, and renewals for projects and business operations.
  • Develop monthly KPI reports including:
    • Revenue
    • Gross Margin
    • Equipment Utilization
    • Overhead
    • Staffing Metrics
  • Prepare executive reports.
  • Track business unit performance indicators.
  • Identify trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Develop and implement standardized business processes.
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Improve reporting automation.
  • Coordinate implementation of new business systems.
  • Assist with locating and establishing yard facilities in South Texas or West Texas.
  • Develop Supervisor onboarding and training program.
  • Develop Project Manager onboarding and training program.
  • Develop Business Unit administrative procedures manual.
  • Assist in implementation of project management software improvements.
  • Support strategic growth initiatives as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Accounting, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience supporting multiple concurrent projects.
