Job Summary:
Cat Digital has an exciting new opportunity for a Business Intelligence- Lead Product Owner in the Dealer Business Insights portfolio of the Integrated Product Team. This position has a special focus on end-to-end business intelligence project leadership of the Differentiated Dealer Capabilities Program – Caterpillar’s enterprise program for developing dealer capabilities.

What You Will Do:

  • Project Leadership: Coordinate with stakeholders and program owners to develop, track, and communicate the design, development and support of business intelligence solutions for the program. Manage project-  including features , user stories and bugs- in Azure DevOps (AzDO) (to translate into Tableau or Power BI visualizations).
  • Data Discovery: Lead data collection and feature discovery efforts with metric and data owners from across enterprise to support the Program. Utilize a variety of analysis tools, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel and Snowflake, for data collection and analysis.  
  • Product Problem Management: Support resolution of reported tickets and bugs of business intelligence solutions for the Program. Coordinate with field support and internal partners to address and resolve problems and expand product usage.
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Management: Design, implement, evaluate  and manage UAT activities for end-users for business intelligence solutions for the Program.
  • Support: Provide guidance and support for internal, field support, and dealer inquiries of business intelligence solutions.

What You Will Have:

  • Business Analysis: Extensive knowledge of business analysis and the set of tasks, techniques and tools required to identify business needs; ability to recommend solutions that deliver value to stakeholders.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Extensive experience of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Effective Communications: Extensive understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Change Request Management: Extensive experience of software change request management; ability to manage product change requests from customers, prospective customers, vendors, and internal staff.
  • Problem Management: Extensive knowledge of strategies, practices and tools for resolving problems; ability to manage software problems in installed products.
  • Product Business Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of and experience with the business aspects and operation of a product; ability to manage install base, current uses, future plans, and product vision.
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Extensive knowledge of UAT activities, tasks, tools and techniques; ability to design, implement and evaluate acceptance tests for end-users.

Considerations For Top Candidates:

  • Experience with handling and involvement with dealer data and business intelligence tools, such as Excel, Snowflake, Tableau and Power BI. 
  • Demonstrated ability to own backlogs across multiple teams, not just a single squad
  • Successfully managed cross-team dependencies in large-scale platforms
  • Ability to break down complex systems into well-defined user stories
  • Experience owning technical services/APIs or platform-level capabilities
  • Ability to connect features to measurable business/customer outcomes
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end workflows (not just features)
  • Takes accountability for delivery outcomes, not just backlog hygiene
  • Proactively identifies issues and drives resolution without escalation
  • Experience in Agile product development. 
    Experience managing backlogs and delivery execution. 
  • Strong understanding of prioritization trade-offs (business value vs technical constraints)
  • Ability to de-risk delivery early by identifying integration challenges
  • Provides clear, proactive status and risk communication to leadership
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) or equivalent backlog tools

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $208,770.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
