Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Business Intelligence Analyst II

The Business Intelligence Analyst II will join the Analytics team and serve as a key partner in advancing research analytics through data-driven insights.

This role is ideal for a highly analytical professional who thrives in navigating ambiguity, translating complex business questions into actionable solutions, and delivering impactful reporting and visualization tools that support strategic decision-making across research and operational stakeholders.

Role Overview

  • Partner with research, operational, and analytics stakeholders to understand business needs and translate complex, ambiguous requests into scalable analytical solutions.


  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations with a strong emphasis on Power BI.


  • Leverage SQL extensively to extract, analyze, validate, and transform data from multiple sources to support reporting and analytics initiatives.


  • Develop meaningful metrics, key performance indicators, and reporting frameworks that enable data-driven decision-making.


  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities that support research objectives.


  • Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure data quality, consistency, and adherence to governance standards.


  • Present analytical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and actionable manner.


  • Support the enhancement of analytics infrastructure, reporting processes, and self-service analytics capabilities.


  • Serve as a trusted analytics partner, proactively identifying opportunities to improve data accessibility, reporting effectiveness, and insight generation.


Key Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, reporting, or a related data-focused role.


  • Advanced SQL skills with demonstrated experience developing, optimizing, and maintaining analytical and reporting solutions.


  • Strong hands-on experience building dashboards and data visualizations, with Power BI experience required.


  • Tableau experience is a plus but not required


  • Experience working with relational databases, data modeling concepts, and data transformation processes.


  • Experience with dbt (data build tool) is highly preferred.


  • Exposure to Epic Cogito tools and the broader Cogito reporting suite is a plus.

  • Schedule: Hybrid 3-4 x a month on site with flexibility as needed; 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday - Friday
