Alamo Drafthouse is looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to serve as the company's lead data expert, building the reporting and data infrastructure that lets Operations, Marketing, Development, and Finance trust the numbers they're making decisions on.
This role reports directly to the VP of Finance and partners closely with Analytics Engineering within the IT team. The position works within a dbt-centric analytics stack (Snowflake, dbt, Omni) where every change to shared data models ships through Git and a pull request review, following software engineering best practices. Day-to-day work sits closer to SQL + dbt + Git than to drag-and-drop dashboard building. You'll be equally responsible for hands-on technical work and for building consensus across departments on what a metric means and which system is the source of truth for it.
CORE ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES- Design, develop, and maintain BI reports, dashboards, and datasets covering multi-unit performance across our theaters - box office, food & beverage, marketing performance, labor, inventory, and guest experience metrics.
- Translate evolving, cross-functional business requirements from Operations, Marketing, Development, and Finance into clear, well-scoped data visualizations.
- Build and optimize data models within our dbt transformation layer, and drive continuous improvement in reporting processes.
- Establish and maintain a shared metrics glossary and consistent data definitions across departments.
- Act as the escalation point for complex BI, data modeling, and reconciliation issues.
- Foster data democratization across the organization, including training and documentation so business users adopt self-service tools confidently.
QUALIFICATIONSMust Haves- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics or business intelligence.
- Nice to Haves, but not a must
- Direct hands-on experience with Snowflake (or a comparable cloud data warehouse platform such as BigQuery or Redshift).
- Direct hands-on experience with Omni specifically.
- Python or another object-oriented programming language.
- Experience supporting a multi-unit, brick-and-mortar business model (i.e. cinema, restaurants, hotels, retail, grocery, or similar).
- Strong, daily-use SQL skills, with the ability to write and optimize complex queries against large, multi-source datasets.
- Hands-on experience with dbt (or a comparable SQL-based transformation framework), including comfort working within a large, shared model codebase.
- Working proficiency with Git/GitHub and a pull-request-based code review workflow.
- Experience building semantic models and dashboards in a modern BI platform (e.g., Omni, Looker/LookML, or similar).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
