Full Job Description
Schneider Electric has an opportunity for a Business Finance Controller - Energy Sage and Qmerit, to be preferably based out of one of the following locations: Boston,MA; Los Angeles, CA or Nashville, TN.

The Business Finance Controller is the primary finance partner to the EnergySage and Qmerit leadership teams, providing strategic financial guidance to drive growth, performance, and business execution. This role owns forecasting, budgeting, long-range planning, and business performance management while helping leadership evaluate opportunities, risks, investments, and trade-offs.

The ideal candidate combines strong finance expertise with business acumen and a deep curiosity for the energy transition ecosystem, including residential solar, electrification, and EV charging. Success in this role requires the ability to influence across Product, Finance, and General Management teams, drive alignment among stakeholders, and lead through collaboration in a highly matrixed environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to EnergySage and Qmerit leadership, providing financial insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Lead monthly forecasting, annual budgeting, long-range planning, and performance reviews.
  • Analyze business results, identify risks and opportunities, and drive actions to improve outcomes.
  • Partner with Product, Technology, Commercial and Finance teams to align business priorities, investments, and financial commitments.
  • Develop business cases, investment analyses, and scenario models to support decision-making and resource allocation.
  • Establish clear financial frameworks, metrics, and reporting that improve visibility and accountability.
  • Influence and drive cross-functional execution without direct authority.

Qualification Requirements:
  • Significant experience in business finance, FP&A, corporate finance, or related analytical roles.
  • Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and influence strategic decisions.
  • Strong financial modeling, planning, forecasting, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, executive presentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated success driving outcomes through cross-functional collaboration in a matrixed organization.
  • Experience in the energy, clean energy, electrification, EV charging, marketplace, or adjacent industries is a strong plus.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 168,800 - USD 253,200 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
