Summary:We are seeking a Business Development Representative that will be responsible for prospecting, qualifying, and developing new customer opportunities. In this role, you'll be building relationships with prospective customers, and generating new business opportunities locally, regionally, or nationally.
What You'll Do: - In coordination with the SVP of Sales and SVP of Brokerage, develop and execute a strategy for discovering and securing new business opportunities either locally, regionally, or nationally.
- Work with the company marketing function to identify and develop new customers for products and services.
- Adapt new business strategies in accordance with the types of clients already secured by the company.
- Fosters beneficial relationships with business partners, potential clients, and business contacts in order to attract new business and enhance the organization's reputation.
- Maintains a pipeline of potential new business opportunities in SalesForce to evaluate performance and organize client and prospective client information.
- Invest in and build relationships with targeted new business opportunities through cold calls, email pitches, and presentations on capabilities.
- Expected to be knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies.
- Expected to conduct extensive market research involving keeping track of competitors' product development and market strategies as well as company's transportation spend, purchasing patterns, and emerging trends.
- Expected to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results.
- May be asked to represent the company at various trade shows, community and/or business meetings to promote the company

What You'll Bring: - Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent related work or military experience
- 3 years of combined experience in sales, Third-Party Logistics (3PL), Intermodal, project management and/or logistics
- Demonstrates attention to detail
- Strong aptitude for understanding and analyzing large amounts of data from multiple sources to identify opportunities
- Performs complex analysis of data, processes, policies, procedures and/or systems
- Produces unambiguous, comprehensive and accurate interpretations of data
- Writes clearly and informatively. Edits work for spelling and grammar
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills to deal effectively with individuals and groups within and outside the organization
- Utilizes variety of interpersonal styles and communication methods to effectively adapt to new work structures, processes, or cultures
- Strong Fluency of Windows applications and Microsoft Office programs such as MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Accurately inputs information into and retrieves from the computer
- Quickly learns and achieves proficiency in new software applications as needed
- Demonstrates ability to create complex formulas in MS Excel; create queries in company software applications
- Provides timely and professional support to all internal/external customers and vendors
- Prioritizes regular workload, special tasks and concurrent projects, allocating time and resources to ensure that work is completed accurately and efficiently within established time frame
- Self-motivated
- Establishes and maintains effective, collaborative work relationships both internally and externally
- Team-oriented. Consults with Team members and management as needed to complete assigned responsibilities

- Availability to travel on occasion

Compensation & Benefits Information: - Salary Range: $68,100 - $97,240
