Full Job Description
We're looking for a Business Development & Preconstruction Manager who can bridge the gap between identifying opportunities and bringing them to life. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in estimating, preconstruction, or project management who is interested in expanding into business development and playing a more strategic role in shaping our pipeline.

You'll work across teams to evaluate opportunities, build relationships, and help convert pursuits into active projects, playing a key role in IMC's continued growth.

What You'll Do

Drive Business Development Efforts: Identify and pursue new opportunities aligned with IMC's strategic goals. Conduct market research, engage with clients, and help expand our presence across target sectors and regions.

Support Preconstruction Strategy: Leverage your estimating, preconstruction, and/or project management background to develop conceptual budgets and help assess project viability early in the pursuit phase.

Build Client Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, developers, architects, and engineers. Actively participate in meetings, presentations, and networking opportunities to strengthen IMC's presence in the market.

Lead Pursuit & Proposal Efforts: Support the development of proposals and presentations, working closely with internal teams to deliver clear, compelling, and professional materials.

Coordinate Across Teams: Partner with Business Development, Marketing, Estimating, and Operations to align on pursuit strategies and ensure a smooth transition from opportunity to project execution.

Track & Manage Opportunities: Maintain and track opportunities through CRM systems. Support account planning efforts and ensure consistent follow-up on leads and active pursuits.

Continuously Improve Processes: Participate in pursuit debriefs to identify areas for improvement and help refine IMC's sales and marketing approach over time.

Skills & Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in estimating, preconstruction, project management, or a related construction role
  • Strong understanding of preconstruction and estimating processes
  • Interest in transitioning into or growing within a business development-focused role
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with both internal teams and external clients
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience supporting proposals and presentations
  • Organized, self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing opportunities
