Full Job Description
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving parts and service sales / profit growth across all our locations. The primary focus will be on strategic account acquisition and development through our OPS team. Lead, teach and guide the OPS to be strategic sales hunters. Work closely with our Parts Management team, our Inventory Control team, our Parts Counter, Outside Parts Sales Professionals (OPS) and the Senior leadership team to foster communication and accountability. Leverage our resources and utilize our full team to drive growth across all our dealerships. Duties and Responsibilities: Reports directly to our Vice President of Parts. Able to support all other departments as needed to support our customers experience and meeting their expectations. - Knowledgeable on all makes of truck parts and able to source and inventory truck products as needed. - Work with each location and OPS to identify their top strategic accounts, prospects, and growth opportunities. - Work with each Locations and OPS to develop their account lists and territories. - Offer support to OPS and team on bids, quotes, parts sourcing. Take the lead on national & regional fleet accounts. Also on city, county, port, and government bids. - Work directly with the OE's to leverage their pricing and programs to acquire national and regional accounts. - Communicate pricing & competitive situations to all members of our team, so we can make the necessary purchasing and selling adjustments to gain the business. - Develop and implement effective sales and marketing plans which meet and exceed profit targets. Assist our Parts Managers in the training and development of our OPS on new vendors and products. - Works with the marketing team to consistently develop sales fliers, brochures, and advertisements for specials for our locations. - Works with the Parts Managers and Inventory Control teams to sell aged inventory, to reduce write-offs. - Become proficient with all of our systems : Procede, Data Insight, Sales I, Rig Dig, etc.. - Use Internet, E-mail and Social Media to better market parts and our company in general. - Lead Sales blitzes for each location. Implement a system for funneling and following up on opportunities. - Work closely with the OPSs to develop their selling skills, including "ride a longs" and making customer visits with them. Works closely with our Parts Managers on customer events and Sales support meetings. - Work closely with our other departments (sales, service, CX Advocate, etc.) to develop strategic accounts. - Establishes and fosters relationships with outside sales representatives, vendors, and parts suppliers. - Leads regular huddles / calls to promote effective communication between Parts departments and all other dealership departments to best serve our customer's needs. Leads regular meetings to review / discuss performance and hold the team accountable. - Able to perform other duties as assigned in order to enhance and maximize the performance of our dealerships and company.
