ABOUT THE ROLE

Under the leadership of the Enterprise Sales Director, The Business Development Manager (BDM) - Space is responsible for driving profitable growth by developing new business and expanding strategic customer relationships within the evolving space industry. This role focuses on selling raw materials and supply chain solutions into OEMs and Tier 1-3 suppliers, and related space subcontractors.

This sales leader will identify and develop new business opportunities, manage key customer relationships, and collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to deliver high-value and profitable sales solutions from our national service center network.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Market Growth: Develop and execute an annual strategic business plan to grow sales in the emerging space market segment focusing on stainless steel, nickel alloys, titanium, carbon alloy and aluminum products.
  • Account Development: Identify and secure new high-value customers while deepening relationships with existing accounts large OEM's and their subcontractor base.
  • Pipeline Management: Build and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities using CRM tools, ensuring consistent follow-up/engagement to drive incremental sales growth for new and existing assigned customers.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with branch management, local sales teams and supply chain to ensure timely quotes, deliveries, and customer satisfaction.
  • Market Intelligence: Track industry trends, competitor activities, and customer developments to identify emerging opportunities that TW Metals can leverage and win new business.
  • Profitability Management: Negotiate pricing and high-value contract terms that align with company profitability goals.
  • Industry Events Participation: Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences as needed; adept at building quality leads and building engagement with key industry targets.


CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in metals distribution, industrial sales, space or aerospace sector business development.
  • Proven national & regional sales track record of generating new profitable business and consistently meeting/exceeding annual sales objectives.
  • Strong understanding of metal products (tube, pipe, bar, plate) and their space-related applications (preferred)
  • Contract negotiations skills and contract creation including development of high value business terms with TW Metal's customers
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel 30-50% to visit customers, attend industry events, and support company assigned projects.
  • Proficient in CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
