Full Job Description
The Department of Continuing Education and Corporate Training at Georgian College supports individuals and organizations with professional development programming to support their career ambitions. A wide range of programming is available, from short one day open enrolment programs to multi modular customized corporate programs.

Position Overview:

We're seeking a dedicated administrative professional who will play a critical role in driving strategic business development revenue within Georgian College's Leadership Institute, as well as a broad portfolio of continuing education and corporate training offerings. This role focuses on lone term planning of strategic relationships with employers, industry partners, and community organizations to identify workforce needs and match them with high-impact training solutions. The manager leads outreach, consultative sales, and partnership development efforts, ensuring programs are positioned to meet market demand while advancing Georgian College's reputation as a leader in professional and corporate education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Development - Drive strategic business development and sales for Georgian College's continuing education and corporate training offerings, to meet annual revenue and enrollment targets.
  • Act as a key market liaison between industry, partners, and internal teams to help inform business development priorities, market positioning, and client experience opportunities.
  • Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities by researching market trends, industry needs, and employer demand to expand enrollment and corporate partnerships.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies that promote Leadership Institute programs and continuing education offerings, including outreach campaigns, presentations, and targeted proposals.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to support the development and ongoing refinement of client-facing materials, webpages, testimonials, case studies, and promotional content that reflect market needs and support business development efforts
  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, program leads, faculty, and operations) to align offerings with market needs and ensure strong value propositions for clients.
  • Track, analyze, and report on performance metrics such as pipeline activity, conversion rates, revenue progress, and enrollment targets to guide decision making and adjust strategies.
  • Identify and engage priority employers and industry partners through targeted outreach, networking events, and sector specific relationship building activities.
  • Conduct regular needs assessment conversations with organizations to understand workforce challenges, skills gaps, and opportunities for customized training solutions.
  • Promote Georgian College's training offerings by delivering tailored presentations, proposals, and consultations that demonstrate value and alignment with partner needs.
  • Maintain and deepen long term partnerships through consistent follow up, proactive communication, and collaborative planning to support ongoing training initiatives.
  • Leverage community organizations and industry associations to expand reach, generate referrals, and stay informed about emerging workforce trends.
  • Identify and surface client success stories, partnership outcomes, and participant testimonials that support relationship development, credibility building, and promotional initiatives.
  • Lead confidential needs assessment discussions with corporate clients to understand workforce challenges, skill gaps, and desired training outcomes.
  • Analyze client requirements and organizational context to recommend the most appropriate programs, delivery formats, and customized training solutions.
  • Develop tailored proposals and statements of work that clearly outline objectives, scope, timelines, pricing, and expected outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (program leads, faculty, finance, and operations) to ensure proposals are feasible, aligned with capabilities, and competitively positioned.
  • Support contract negotiations by clarifying proposal details, addressing client questions, and ensuring agreements meet both client needs and institutional requirements.
  • Monitor labour market and industry trends to identify emerging skills needs, shifting employer priorities, and new opportunities for training program development.
  • Analyze competitor offerings and pricing to ensure Georgian College's programs remain competitive, differentiated, and aligned with market expectations.
  • Collect and synthesize client and participant feedback to identify gaps, refine program content, and recommend improvements to delivery models or formats.
  • Collaborate with academic and program teams to propose new courses, micro credentials, or customized training solutions based on validated market demand.
  • Provide ongoing market insights and client feedback to support positioning, messaging, and promotional strategies aligned with employer and learner demand

Qualifications:
• Successfully completed a three-year diploma / degree in Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales/marketing and/or business development.
• Advanced skills in MS Word and MS Excel.
• Strong understanding of information technology, business information intelligence systems/tools and web-based services.
• Strong interpersonal skills to manage support staff and work with staff from different departments.
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
