  • Lead development and sales efforts for new accounts, particularly with major military primes

  • Generate quotations and proposals in partnership with Engineering, Programs, and Finance teams
  • Work with engineering for customized product solutions to capture new business
  • Manage customer expectations regarding lead times and product availability
  • Conduct regular pipeline reviews, sales forecasting, and competitive intelligence analysis focused on new customer development

Summary

Qualified candidates are responsible for creating growth through new customers in the Mil/Aero market. Unlike a traditional territory role centered on an established account base, this position is focused on identifying whitespace, opening new accounts, creating first technical engagements, developing new program opportunities, and converting qualified prospects into first purchase orders and sustainable revenue. The role is a key member of the North American Mil/Aero sales team and reports to the Director of Mil/Aero Sales.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Drive new customer acquisition: Identify, qualify, pursue, and win military and aerospace customers that are not currently generating meaningful revenue in the Mil/Aero market
  • Direct key new account development and sales responsibility. Experience selling to the major military primes beneficial
  • Uncover new programs, platforms, prototypes, upgrades, and production opportunities early enough to influence technical requirements and supplier selection
  • Coordinate with a team of other complementary direct Business Dev. Managers
  • Generate customer quotations and proposals - working w/ Engineering, Programs and Finance teams as required
  • Collaborate with engineering on custom product solutions to secure new opportunities
  • Manage expectations between customers and the company on lead times, expedites, and availability
  • Provide regular forecasting, pipeline reviews, activity reporting, and competitive intelligence focused specifically on new customer development.
  • Make decisions to support sales and grow the business
  • Travel expectations up to 40% as required
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with a focus on business management, operations or engineering preferred
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in outside sales environment
  • Applications knowledge including Aeronautics, Missile Systems, Space, Electronic Warfare, Radar, UAV/UAS, and Ground Combat Vehicles
  • Familiar with establishing and managing a sales rep network
  • Experience with RF interconnect products, coaxial cable &/or related products a plus
  • Comfortable discussing technical requirements such as RF electrical specifications and mechanical requirements
  • Highly accountable and self-directed for performance in the territory
  • Located within the Central region (TX or OK) to support sales activity
