Full Job Description
As Business Development Representative Sr., you'll lead projects and transactions and develop solutions to sophisticated problems using your wide knowledge of the natural gas industry in ways that are unique or innovative. You'll demonstrate superb communication and interpersonal skills as you interact with customers. Your ability to cultivate and nurture a network across functions and influence others to gain support and dedication to get results are keys to success! As Business Development Sr.- Power Innovation, you'll own the full lifecycle of power and natural gas business opportunities - from initial concept through investment decision - working across internal teams and directly with customers to shape and close deals that create value for the organization. Responsibilities/Expectations
  • Leads opportunities from early-stage idea through investment decision, driving the deal process, key milestones, and internal approvals needed to move a project forward
  • Engages directly with customers to understand their power requirements, design, and commercial priorities, translating those needs into deal structures and solutions
  • Collaborates closely with internal resources - finance, engineering, legal, operations, and commercial teams - to align on deal terms, feasibility, and execution plans
  • Guides commercial and financial models to evaluate business opportunities, including cash flows, returns, and sensitivity to key deal variables
  • Identifies, monitors, and quantifies risks and cost drivers across a transaction, and develops mitigation approaches to protect deal value
  • Prepares clear, executive-ready presentations and materials that communicate opportunity economics, risks, and recommendations to internal stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Considers industry and market trends, basin fundamentals, and competitor dynamics when shaping deal strategy and investment recommendations
  • Partners with others on sophisticated, greenfield business opportunities, aligning corporate objectives, market fundamentals, and customer preferences to guide actions and performance
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Years of Experience

Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field and a minimum of seven (7) years' related experience
Preferred: MBA

Other Requirements
  • Experience in power generation, energy, business development, M&A, investment banking, or corporate development
  • Demonstrated ability to move deals from concept through investment decision, coordinating across internal functions to reach a final recommendation
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to evaluate a business opportunity's economics and identify key risks
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial and commercial analysis clearly to varied audiences
  • Comfort engaging directly with customers to understand power requirements and translate them into viable commercial solutions
  • Knowledge of upstream, midstream, or downstream assets and the integration of economics across the value chain
  • In-depth knowledge of energy market fundamentals and economics, including commodity pricing, basin market fundamentals, and competitor strategies
  • Solid understanding of deal structure, contract terms, financial issues, and other aspects of project development
  • Ability to negotiate transactions with support
  • Excellent organizational/interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and PC skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft copilot, Claude, Perplexity or other AI integrated applications
