Description and Requirements

The expected base salary range for this position is $82,080 to $150,000 plus commission. This salary range may vary based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, education, and geographic location.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Business Development, Director is responsible for achieving sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies aimed at effectively selling and promoting the portfolio of services. Externally, this position maintains relationships with medical and clinical operations decision-makers at pharmaceutical, biopharma, biotech, and medical device companies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The accountabilities listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
  • Successfully prospects and sells solutions and services via a consultative selling approach within assigned global bio pharm/CRO clients
  • Coordinates with leaders and SMEs across the organization to create compelling and goal-driven solutions for clients and prospects, and ensures tactical and strategic company goals are achieved
  • Develops account strategies for assigned accounts, and prepares client presentations to the standards of the company
  • Manages client meeting schedules to achieve target performance
  • Utilize cross selling techniques to proactively suggest additional WCG offerings
  • Expected client engagement is face-to-face with expectations of travel
  • Analyzes our competitors' strengths and weaknesses
  • Works within a vigorous metrics-driven environment
  • Utilizes Salesforce.com to monitor, analyze, and communicate sales data to the management team
  • Coordinates with the legal team in managing contract negotiations
  • Provides market feedback to internal teams regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs and generates product development ideas
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or higher is required, with industry related degree preferred

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSE/REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS: None
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience managing business development and selling solutions (products and/or services) preferably in selling into the clinical trials space
  • Possesses a "hunter" mentality and can grow business from net new sales
  • Demonstrated track record of consistently achieving personal sales goals
  • Experience working in a matrixed team selling environment with subject matter experts
  • Executive level client penetration and development experience is essential
  • Strong business acumen, strategic, negotiation and communication skills are required
  • Proficiency with SalesForce and MS Office
  • Demonstrated ability to develop solutions for a changing environment

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 20% - 50%
