JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Business Development, the Business Development Director supports strategic growth initiatives that advance organizational objectives and expand market opportunities. This position develops and maintains relationships with prospective clients and strategic partners, promotes brand awareness, and supports internal and external communications efforts. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities, strengthen organizational partnerships, and support business development strategies. Success in this position requires strong communication, relationship-building, analytical, and project management skills within a healthcare, nonprofit, or related environment.

JOB DUTIES

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop strategic approaches that support business development initiatives and organizational objectives.
  • Direct and manage leaders of communications and marketing teams including strategic oversite and operations.
  • Research, analyze, and evaluate new business opportunities, market trends, and competitive intelligence to support organizational growth strategies.
  • Prepare and attend relevant industry sales and policy-focused conferences across the US.
  • Develop and execute business development projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Facilitate collaboration and build consensus among cross-functional teams and stakeholders to advance business development and organizational goals.
  • Oversee the alignment of marketing activities with organizational brand strategy, business development objectives, recruitment efforts, and operational requirements.
  • Ensure organizational websites remain compliant, accessible and user-friendly for clients, caregivers, and other stakeholders.
  • Review, edit, and enhance RFP responses, marketing collateral, internal and external communications, and other business development materials to improve quality, consistency, and effectiveness.
  • Direct the coordination of large-scale internal and external communications to promote consistent messaging and support brand integrity.
  • Establish and maintain productive working relationships with internal departments, external partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Provide responsive and professional customer service to internal and external clients.
  • Support special projects including program implementations, market research efforts, operational initiatives, and administrative activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field requiring strong written and verbal communication skills; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in business development, sales, proposal writing, brand strategy, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with cross-functional teams and coordinating multiple stakeholders to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Experience in Medicaid programs, healthcare services, self-direction services, nonprofit organizations, or related industries preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to write, edit, and communicate technical information using plain-language principles.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with business partners, community organizations, donors, or other key stakeholders.
  • Excellent written, editing, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet established deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, research, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and accountability.
  • Ability to travel independently and with team members approximately five (5) days per month.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, professional growth, and organizational improvement.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours, if needed, to meet job requirements.
  • Ability to pass required background screening.


The incumbent typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties.
