Brief Description
The Business Unit Controller will be responsible for the management and leadership of the Accounting Department, oversight of accounting operations, cash management, financial reporting, audit processes, internal controls, and integration of accounting systems for all acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, billing, and revenue recognition to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
• Lead and mentor the accounting and finance team, ensuring productivity, accuracy, and professional development while creating an environment of collaboration and trust.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports to support strategic decision-making.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year financial planning, including variance analysis and reporting to senior management.
• Implement and maintain internal controls and financial safeguards to protect company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, serving as the primary liaison for auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Perform special projects, as required, to assist the department and the Company in achieving its goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with executives to develop financial strategies aligned with company growth objectives and risk management.
• Manage cash flow, investments, and tax compliance, including planning and reporting obligations.
• Adhere to federal, state, and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable and notifying senior leadership about existing, new, and future legislation.
• Manage the monthly close process ensuring deadlines are met.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of cash management, AP, AR, and collections.
• Prepare required reporting for ANDRITZ finance team.
• Review financial results with department and project managers monthly.
• Promote collaboration between the accounting staff and the operations staff.

Job Specific Competencies
• In-depth knowledge of accounting and regulatory standards (GAAP).
• Excellent organization & time-management skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
• In depth understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis.
• Good understanding and knowledge of project-based business and implications to accounting and reporting thereof.
• Ability to lead teams, interpret financial data, and provide actionable insights for strategic decisions.
• Advanced competency in Excel and financial management and accounting software.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and juggle multiple duties.

Qualifications (Required)
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance required.
• CPA required.
• 10+ years of related accounting experience with demonstrated progression and past supervisory experience.

Other Valued Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Preferred)
• Experience with integration post-acquisition a plus.
• Prior experience with ERP implementation.
• Experience with SAP and Sage Intacct strongly preferred.
