Position OverviewAs a Business Analytics Consultant Senior within PNC's Risk organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA or Birmingham, AL.
The Senior Business Analyst Consultant serves as a strategic partner between business stakeholders and technology teams, driving enterprise-wide initiatives that improve business performance, operational efficiency, and customer outcomes. This role leverages advanced analytical, consulting, and leadership skills to identify business needs, translate complex requirements into actionable solutions, and guide organizations through transformation initiatives. The Senior Business Analyst Consultant works across multiple business functions, providing data-driven insights, process optimization recommendations, and strategic guidance to support organizational goals and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Requirements Discovery & Analysis
•Lead workshops, interviews, and stakeholder discussions to elicit, analyze, validate, and document complex business requirements.
•Translate business objectives into detailed functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
•Ensure alignment between business priorities, operational needs, and technology solutions.
2. Strategic Business Process Improvement
•Evaluate current business processes, workflows, and operating models to identify inefficiencies, risks, and improvement opportunities.
•Recommend and implement process enhancements that increase productivity, quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
•Facilitate process mapping, gap analysis, root cause analysis, and future-state design initiatives.
3. Data Analytics & Business Intelligence
•Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, opportunities, business impacts, and performance drivers.
•Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, KPIs, and reporting solutions that support executive decision-making.
•Provide actionable insights and recommendations through data visualization and advanced analytical techniques.
4. Solution Design & Technology Enablement
•Collaborate with business leaders, architects, developers, and testing teams to design scalable and sustainable business solutions.
•Assess technology capabilities and recommend system enhancements or digital transformation opportunities.
•Support solution evaluation, vendor assessments, and business case development.
5. Stakeholder Engagement & Consulting
•Build trusted relationships with executives, business partners, project teams, and end users.
•Facilitate discussions among cross-functional teams to achieve consensus on priorities, requirements, and project objectives.
•Serve as a subject matter advisor, providing strategic recommendations and influencing decision-making at multiple organizational levels.
6. Documentation & Governance
•Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, process flows, use cases, user stories, and traceability matrices.
•Ensure documentation standards, governance requirements, and compliance guidelines are consistently followed.
•Support audit, regulatory, and risk management activities as required.
7. Project & Program Support
•Partner with project and program managers to define scope, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
•Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and recommend mitigation strategies.
•Support Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies to ensure successful implementation outcomes.
8. Change Management & User Adoption
•Lead business readiness activities, including stakeholder communication, training, user acceptance testing (UAT), and implementation support.
•Facilitate organizational change efforts to ensure adoption of new processes, systems, and technologies.
•Gather user feedback and drive continuous enhancements post-implementation.
9. Leadership & Continuous Improvement
•Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of business analysis best practices, standards, and methodologies.
•Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, business analysis frameworks, and regulatory changes.
•Identify and champion innovation opportunities that drive measurable business value and operational excellence.
Job Description- Leverages complex analytical tools to provide business and technical expertise for the analytics process, tools and useful applications across multiple functions or business units to create data driven solutions.
- Consulting to clients on tool and strategy implementation and monitoring, statistical scoring, business intelligence, data quality, and analytical product / solution development.
- Determining the optimal analytic approach and supporting development, implementation and enhancements.
- Conceptualizing, developing and continuously optimizing analytical solutions for business leadership to enable data driven decision making.
- Analyze results and make recommendations for key business partners and senior management or communicate conclusions from complex analytical solutions to a wide range of audiences.
