In this role, you will source and analyze critical data, establish key business metrics, and deliver meaningful reporting and insights to business partners. Like all roles at MassMutual, this position calls for accountability, agility, inclusiveness, sound business judgment, and the courage to navigate complex situations. We also value strong communication skills, intellectual curiosity, initiative, resilience, and self-awareness.

The Team

This role plays a key part on the MMFA Strategic Reporting & Analytics team, which provides reporting and analytics support for MassMutual's Financial Advisor distribution channel. The team serves as the business owner for many shared reports within the enterprise reporting platform and partners closely with technology, national sales, marketing, finance, and wealth business teams. While each team member has defined areas of responsibility, collaboration across projects is central to how we work. Together, we deliver critical data, reporting, and analytics capabilities that support our Insurance, Annuity, Investment Solutions, and Wealth Management business lines. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team, aligning priorities with key markets and distribution channels, and fostering strong partnerships grounded in transparency and accountability.

The Impact

As a Business Analytics Consultant, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Collect, organize, analyze, and distribute large volumes of information with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Manage data across multiple sources and understand the relationships among key data elements.
  • Perform data exploration and analysis using available tools, including MicroStrategy, Alteryx, Tableau, Microsoft Office, and other related platforms.
  • Provide reporting support to MassMutual home office and field partners through KPI reporting, PowerPoint presentations, and interactive dashboards.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses across areas such as product performance, advisor recruiting and retention, compensation programs, and wealth revenue KPIs.
  • Present findings and recommendations to management based on research and analysis.
  • Partner with team members to develop and deliver more complex reports and analyses.
  • Apply business and technical expertise to improve and automate reporting processes.
  • Provide technical support to Business Intelligence platform users in accessing data and creating custom reports.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external business partners to support data sourcing and reporting needs.

The Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years' experience in a reporting and/or analytics position
  • 3+ years' of experience creating visualizations and reports using Business Intelligence tools such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, or similar platforms

The Ideal Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Finance, Mathematics, Business Administration, or Statistics
  • 7+ years' experience in a reporting and/or analytics position
  • 1+ year experience in the insurance, broker dealer, and/or financial services industry
  • 1+ year experience using Business Intelligence tools to develop reports and analytics
  • 1+ year experience using SQL
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Access to learning, development, and internal networks that support continuous growth and skill-building over time
