Full Job Description
This position is responsible for leading the analysis and design efficiency of gathering healthcare data and aggregating spend for the purposes of conducting Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposals (RFP); and developing savings opportunities to present to executives, administration and physician leaders across WVU Medicine, Heritage Valley and Washington Health Systems. This position requires the ability to streamline and automate compliance data submissions across the entire Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) membership and provide compliance reports for hospital executives and vendor partners. Analyst is responsible for compiling utilization data across multiple platforms and analyzing through computer based applications. As the organization grows, business analyst will be responsible for identifying additional qualified personnel and provide ongoing training, mentoring and development. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Bachelor of Science in Information Management, Business or Healthcare related field. EXPERIENCE: 1. Five (5) years of clinical work experience providing healthcare data analytics across multiple service lines. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, accounting, finance or other related area. EXPERIENCE: 1. Value analysis experience within an acute healthcare organization. 2. Project management experience working across multiple healthcare service lines and facilities integrating multiple data sets. 3. Experience and knowledge of physician preference items used in the orthopedic, neuroscience and/or cardiovascular service lines. 4. Seven (7) years of clinical work experience providing healthcare data analytics across multiple service lines. CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Responsible for gathering, compiling, modeling, validating and analyzing data required for RFPs, utilization and standardization initiatives. 2. Provides assistance in problem identification and resolution of daily operations issues within required timeframes. 3. Develops operational procedures for member hospital to compile and submit utilization data for monthly contract compliance reports. 4. Coordinates with sales and clinical teams to perform on-site training to assist procurement/material management personnel at member hospitals in streamlining data submission solutions. 5. Performs analysis and data mining activities to identify contract savings opportunities and areas to standardize across the health network and GPO Membership. 6. Leads and develops savings opportunities in conjunction with contract managers utilizing data analysis to present to healthcare executives and physician leadership. 7. Acts as liaison across departments (Finance, Sourcing, Sales, Clinical, etc.) to mobilize resources to aid data analysis. 8. Runs savings analysis models and financial analytics for community hospitals considering partnering on physician preference items, capital equipment and purchase services. 9. Coordinates with sourcing during RFP process to analyze vendor price bids and cross with existing utilization data. 10. Ability to cross-reference implantable products and constructs across multiple service lines and work with vendor partners to analyze data. 11. Utilizes appropriate data analytics tools (Tableau, Microsoft Excel, etc.) and provide analytic insight to drive strategic business decisions. 12. Provides direct supervision and input into the expansion of analytic team with overall management responsibility of all GPO value analysis. 13. Provides direction, expertise, and leadership for the data analytics staff. Will be charged with identifying qualified personnel and provide for their on-going training and development. Assures that duties, responsibilities, and authority of each job are clearly defined and communicated. 14. Runs quarterly and annual operations and utilization reports for all hospital members under the Group Purchasing Organization. 15. Uses professional discretion with access to highly confidential contract agreements. Familiarity with Lawson Application preferred. 3. Demonstrated ability to solve software and data set issues and work with outside facilities. 4. Demonstrated ability and strong project management experience. 5. Excellent facilitation and communication skills. 6. General knowledge and demonstrated ability to learn all implantable items and constructs used in orthopedic, neurosurgical and cardiovascular procedures. 7. Ability to integrate with clinical and physician stakeholders. 8. Expertise in data analytics using various systems and tools such as Tableau, Microsoft Office Suite and SAP products. 9. Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills necessary. 10. Strategic thinking and process skills are a must.
