We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Analystat UL Standards & Engagement This is a hybrid opportunity based in our RTP or Evanston office.

The Business Analyst will support technology enabled services and initiatives to advance the mission of UL Standards & Engagement (ULSE) to make the world safer, more secure, and sustainable. The Business Analyst will leverage application and technical knowledge of software and system functions to inform technology solutions implementation, process improvement and user experience optimization. The Business Analyst will drive rigorous technical requirement discovery, identify substandard or inefficient system processes, and ensure systems are designed, tested, and maintained to support usability and operational excellence.

What you'll learn and achieve:

As the Business Analyst,you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL as you:

  • Provide functional and operational support of technology software and systems. Drive continuous improvement of technology solutions and identify opportunities to meet evolving stakeholder needs and ULSE strategic objectives.


  • Manage comprehensive technical requirement gathering across functional areas, to support safety standards processes, regulatory needs and organizational objectives. Ensure requirements are complete, traceable and aligned with priorities.


  • Analyze existing systems and monitor performance of technology solutions. Participate in testing and quality assurance assessments, conduct regular audits and use data driven insights to offer recommendations on capabilities and optimize functionality.


  • Validate user requirements for systems in production. Continuously assess user feedback and evolving needs to inform system enhancements.


  • Support deployment and configuration of new systems, applications and updates. Provide ongoing education to end-users, create and deliver tailored training programs and materials.


  • Manage end-to-end projects, plan and execute activities across the project lifecycle and ensure timely and high-quality deliverables. Support ongoing project governance through clear documentation, risk management, and status reporting.


  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, identify needs and leverage technology solutions to support operational efficiency, streamline processes and improve user experiences.


  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for system and applicant issues. Develop and apply end-to-end solutions and implement proactive strategies to address complex, undefined and ambiguous challenges.


  • Collaborate within the team to ensure team-level goal achievement and enable successful adoption and integration of technology solutions.


  • Support and facilitate internal and external meetings. Prepare meeting agendas, presentations, and other deliverables.


  • Maintain continued awareness of industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices to continually improve performance and effectiveness of technology solutions.


  • Independently execute tasks that range in complexity and scope.


  • Perform other duties as directed.

Professional education and experience requirements for the role include:
