Job Summary
The Business Analyst - Payments ISO20022 will support payment-related initiatives by analyzing business requirements, payment standards, client impacts, user stories, and cross-system dependencies. The role requires 9-12 years of experience and strong knowledge of payment products including Cross-Border Wires, ACH, and Real-Time Payments, along with in-depth understanding of ISO 20022 payment messages, SWIFT, and wire formats. The analyst will work closely with business, development, and testing teams to define scope, assess impacts, facilitate requirements walkthroughs, maintain the user story backlog, and support successful delivery of payment initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze different payment standards and assess their potential client and system impacts.
• Perform detailed analysis of user stories and map them to delivery scope and business value.
• Work with partner systems to reach agreement on mapping documents and communication protocols.
• Work closely with Development and Testing teams to explain and elaborate user stories.
• Support Development and Testing teams throughout development and testing activities.
• Perform test case reviews to validate alignment with business requirements.
• Organize and facilitate user story walkthrough sessions with business stakeholders.
• Maintain and manage the user story backlog.
• Produce high-level and detailed impact assessments to support estimated effort for work packages.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to identify dependencies, requirements, and delivery impacts.
• Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve requirements and delivery challenges.
Required Qualifications
• 9-12 years of relevant business analysis experience.
• Strong knowledge of payment products, including Cross-Border Wires, ACH, and Real-Time Payments.
• In-depth understanding of ISO 20022 payment messages.
• Strong knowledge of SWIFT and wire formats.
• Strong understanding of payment types including Real-Time, Instant, Request to Pay, Domestic, Cross-Border, High Value, Low Value, and Mass Payments.
• Experience analyzing user stories and mapping requirements to delivery scope and business value.
• Experience working with partner systems on mapping documents and communication protocols.
• Experience collaborating with Development and Testing teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Experience performing test case reviews and supporting business walkthrough sessions.
• Experience maintaining user story backlogs.
• Experience producing high-level and detailed impact assessments.
• Excellent analytical, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
