Job DescriptionOur leading government banking client is looking for a Business Analyst to join their team on a two year term. This will be a
hybrid role in Ottawa.
Please note, the successful candidate must have or be eligible for Secret Security Clearance . Candidates must have resided in Canada for at least the past 5 years to qualify for Secret Security Clearance.
Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Analysis - Payments Modernization, you will:
- Participate in a Scrum team to translate business requirements into detailed specifications and user stories.
- Support testing efforts and maintain documentation, including processes, procedures, and training materials.
- Gather, document, and oversee high-level requirements for large-scale IT-enabled projects using Agile methodology.
- Facilitate refinement sessions to ensure development teams understand requirements.
- Write, plan, and execute test scenarios, and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Collaborate to analyze and validate solutions to complex business problems.
- Identify opportunities to improve banking and payment processes.
- Contribute to the Business Analysis Community of Practice, sharing insights and best practices.
- Provide subject-matter expertise for projects and testing activities.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Must Haves: - University degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Commerce, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience consulting on business requirements development and delivering business systems analysis, with strong consideration for people, processes, system design, and technology.
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience as a Business Analyst in an Agile software development environment, demonstrating the Agile mindset and valuing psychological safety, equal voice, visibility, transparency, purpose, and belonging.
- Proven ability to facilitate meetings and workshops effectively.
- Strong adaptability to change, with experience working alongside diverse partners and Scrum team members while managing multiple complex tasks.
- In-depth knowledge of highly available banking and payment systems.
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Certification in Business Analysis (CCBA), or other equivalent professional designation.
