Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with 10+ years of experience in P&C Insurance and strong hands-on knowledge of Personal Lines Auto and Homeowners insurance. The BA will support an initiative focused on extending capabilities for the Sales organization and will serve as a key bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams. The ideal candidate will have strong insurance domain expertise, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into clear functional and technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and facilitate business workshops and requirements-gathering sessions with stakeholders.
• Work with business users to understand sales, distribution, and insurance business processes.
• Gather, analyze, validate, and comprehensively document business requirements.
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and implemented correctly.
• Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
• Identify gaps, dependencies, business rules, and integration requirements.
• Support data mapping and documentation activities involving APIs, JSON structures, and ACORD structures.
• Perform API payload mapping and help define and interpret tool-calling schemas.
• Analyze and document insurance data models and their relationships.
• Participate in solution discussions, requirement validation, testing, and issue resolution.
• Ensure business requirements are accurately represented throughout the implementation lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of Business Analysis experience, primarily within P&C Insurance.
• Strong experience with Personal Lines Auto and Homeowners insurance.
• Strong knowledge of P&C insurance business processes and terminology.
• Strong business-domain knowledge with the ability to communicate effectively with insurance stakeholders.
• Proven experience conducting business workshops and stakeholder discussions.
• Strong requirements elicitation, analysis, validation, and documentation skills.
• Experience translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
• Experience working with distributed technical delivery teams.
• Strong understanding of insurance sales and distribution channels, including independent agencies, captive agencies, and direct-to-consumer/direct sales.
• Experience with insurance sales workflows and supporting technologies.
• Experience with third-party insurance technology providers, such as replacement cost estimators and comparative raters.
• Experience with insurance data models, preferably ACORD Personal Lines data models.
• Working knowledge of APIs, JSON structures, data mapping, and integration requirements.
• Experience documenting interface requirements and supporting API/integration implementations.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting insurance sales platforms or digital distribution initiatives.
• Experience with ACORD standards and Personal Lines data models.
• Experience with comparative raters such as Applied, EZLynx, Vertafore, or similar platforms.
• Experience with replacement cost estimation solutions such as CoreLogic or similar platforms.
• Experience working on insurance integrations involving multiple third-party providers.
• Experience supporting AI-enabled insurance applications or platforms.
