Overview

The Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing moderately complex business data, identifying trends and insights, and supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role partners with stakeholders to understand business needs, collect and evaluate data, develop reports and dashboards, conduct research, and present findings to various audiences. The analyst applies qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques, performs what-if modeling, tracks key performance indicators (KPIs), and contributes to project teams that drive operational and strategic improvements.

The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational and multitasking abilities, can effectively adapt to changing business priorities and ambiguity, and demonstrates excellent presentation and communication skills. Success in this role requires proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and related project management and process-mapping tools such as Project or Visio, along with a solid understanding of market research, project management practices, and business performance metrics.

JOB TITLE: Business Analyst

LOCATION: Hybrid - Oakland, CA (OPEN TO NON-LOCAL CANDIDATES BUT PREFER LOCAL AND RESIDING IN THE BAY AREA)

HOURLY RANGE: $38.32 - $57.45

Responsibilities

  • Performs analysis on moderately complex data models selecting from various reports and data options.
  • Determines data needs, collects data, selects from different analytical techniques to achieve desired data outcomes.
  • Understands business needs, develops new reports and performs custom/ad-hoc reporting working independently. Presents findings to various audiences.
  • Performs basic research internally and externally.
  • Communicates with peers inside and outside the department exchanging ideas or gathering information.
  • Participates on project teams.

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor of Science in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent work experience required.

Experience
  • 2 years of related work experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Desired)
