Business Analyst - Information and Data Management (Contract)
Location: Remote (Canada)
Duration: 12 month initial term, with option to extend 24 months
Type: Full time contract, 37.5 hours per week
About the Role
We are seeking a Business Analyst with strong information and data management expertise to support records lifecycle governance and data modernization initiatives for a large public sector client. This role bridges traditional records management practice with modern data governance and AI enabled information solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and document records retention, disposition and information management requirements across assigned programs and business functions, ensuring alignment with policy, regulatory obligations and operational needs
- Analyze business processes and develop business requirements for records lifecycle management rules, including retention, disposition, classification and governance controls within information management solutions and AI enabled technologies
- Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to implement, validate and test lifecycle management controls, data quality and AI governance requirements
- Perform data mapping, data analysis and data integration activities between Microsoft Dynamics and other data sources to support data modelling and reporting
- Deliver knowledge transfer, training and operational handover to business and support teams to support ongoing management and adoption of implemented solutions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Studies, Information Management, Records Management, Archival Studies or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of recent experience in information and records management, with a focus on electronic records management
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience developing data maps, data dictionaries, metadata crosswalks and semantic models
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience conducting business analysis, documenting business requirements and collaborating with development teams through design, development, testing and implementation
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics, SharePoint and other enterprise Microsoft technologies supporting information management, data governance, reporting and analytics
- Demonstrated ability to translate business processes into requirements for records lifecycle controls, including retention, disposition, classification, governance and AI enabled information management

- Must be based in Canada and legally authorized to work in Canada
- Reliability Status clearance, requiring a minimum of 5 years of verifiable personal history
- English required
