Position Title:Business Analyst III
Job Description:Business Analyst III Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 1-2 days, per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. The
Business Analyst III acts as a vital liaison between IT and business partners, driving the end-to-end user acceptance testing process by translating complex business requirements into comprehensive, user-focused UAT test plans, test cases, and cross-functional acceptance criteria. Utilizing full technical knowledge of project lifecycles, backend databases, and systems impacts, the role involves executing SQL queries for data extraction and validation, assessing opportunities for process improvement through business process modeling, and collaborating with cross-functional programming and testing teams to ensure thorough coverage across all testing phases. To ensure a quality product within the planned release schedule, this position partners directly with the IT QA Lead to co-manage the UAT cycle, facilitate test execution, and lead defect triage to accurately document severity, priority, and root causes. Furthermore, the role manages stakeholder alignment across all organizational levels by developing and presenting educational materials to train business partners, obtaining detailed test scenarios, securing formal testing signoffs, and providing clear, daily execution metrics and status updates to project leadership.
How you will make an impact:- Analyzing complex end user needs to determine optimal UAT test plans.
- Determines specific business application software requirements to address complex business needs.
- Develops project plans and identifies and coordinates resources, involving those outside the unit.
- Works with programming staff and IT QA Lead to ensure requirements will be incorporated into testing.
- Acts as a resource to users of the software to address questions/issues.
- May provide direction and guidance to team members and serve as an expert for the team.
Minimum Requirements: Requires a BA/BS and minimum of 5 years business analysis experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:- Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Knowledge of healthcare payer systems, capabilities and business operations.
- Track record of managing testing activities under both Agile and Waterfall frameworks.
- Knowledge of Agile/SAFe practices.
- Knowledge of claims processing.
- Knowledge of financial systems & operations.
- Basic SQL skills is preferred.
- Knowledge of building and managing Smartsheet workspaces, sheets, and forms.
