OPPORTUNITY:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Applications, IMIT, the Business Analyst, Applications & Systems (BA) is responsible for analyzing business needs, improving business processes, and supporting the delivery, enhancement, and adoption of business applications at HEABC. The BA acts as the primary point of contact for HEABC staff inquiries, owns the product backlog, performs Q/A, and works closely with interest-holders to ensure business acceptance.

Responsibilities Include:

• Leads the discovery, analysis, and documentation of business needs, processes, and requirements. Assesses current state, recommends business processes and technical improvements, and identifies opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Works with interest-holders to translate business requirements into solutions, features, and capabilities. Creates user stories, documents use cases, defines functional requirements and tracks acceptance criteria.
• Promotes the application of business analysis best practices, methodologies, tools, and standards. Ensures effective requirements management, business process analysis, interest-holder engagement, and solution assessment across initiatives.
• Serves as the primary point of contact for HEABC staff regarding application-related inquiries, improvements, and issues. Evaluates, categorizes, and prioritizes enhancement requests, tracks defects, and manages the product backlog.

• Serves as the primary IMIT liaison during business requirements validation and solution design activities, coordinating reviews with internal interest-holders, vendors, and external partners.

Required Education, Experience and Skills

A bachelor's degree in business administration/commerce (preferably in Information Management Systems), with a minimum of 3 years in an Analyst role (business or technical), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online.
• The ability to work independently on projects, with tight deadlines, under minimal supervision.
• The ability to organize and prioritize workload is essential.
• Knowledge of the health care industry is an asset, as is familiarity with IT business processes and terminology, or experience in an IT-heavy environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate, both in written formal business English as well as verbally, including comfort in speaking to large groups internal and external to the organization.
• Familiarity with public cloud providers is an asset

Salary Range: $69,218 to $90,848

Typical Hiring Range: $69,218 to $86,522

In determining salary, HEABC considers many factors including the successful candidate's skillset and experience as well as internal equity. The final salary offer will be at HEABC's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
