Position SummaryA state health and human services technology organization is seeking a Senior Business Data Quality Analyst to support an Enterprise Information Management initiative within a large analytics and reporting platform. This role serves as the bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, focusing on data profiling, data quality, analytics enablement, reporting, governance, and emerging AI-assisted data analysis capabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Gather and analyze business requirements related to data quality, analytics, and reporting.
- Act as the liaison between technical IT teams and non-technical program staff.
- Profile, extract, integrate, and analyze data from multiple complex sources.
- Translate technical findings, data limitations, and quality issues into business-friendly language.
- Develop and validate data quality profiles and business data lineage analysis.
- Support analytics initiatives through data quality assessments and reporting.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to resolve data issues.
- Create data visualizations and support analytical reporting needs.
- Promote data literacy through training, documentation, and mentoring.
- Develop AI prompts, templates, and best practices for data retrieval and synthesis.
- Review and validate AI-generated outputs, identifying potential inaccuracies or hallucinations.
- Support data governance, compliance, and reporting standards.
Required Skills & Experience- 8+ years of business analysis, systems analysis, data analysis, or data liaison experience.
- 8+ years gathering business requirements and translating complex data needs into actionable solutions.
- 8+ years explaining technical concepts to business users and leadership.
- 8+ years of advanced SQL experience for:
- Data extraction
- Data profiling
- Data manipulation
- Data enrichment
- 8+ years collaborating with stakeholders to develop and validate data profiles and lineage analysis.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills- Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehouse experience.
- Experience serving as the primary contact for analytics-related data profiling requests.
- Health and Human Services or highly regulated industry experience.
- Data governance and data quality expertise.
- Experience with Snowflake Cortex, Toad, or similar profiling tools.
- Data literacy training and organizational adoption experience.
- AI prompt engineering and AI-assisted analytics experience.
Ideal CandidateThe strongest candidate will have extensive SQL and data profiling experience, a background supporting enterprise analytics initiatives, experience working with regulated healthcare or government data environments, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders. Experience with data governance, AI prompt development, and organizational data literacy programs is highly desirable.
