BUSINESS ANALYST/PROJECT MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

1. OVERALL DESCRIPTION:

Purpose: Drive business requirements definition of product development efforts and overall project management activities.

2. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overall responsibility for all aspects of the project development lifecycle including:
  • Analysis:
    • Determine client and organizational needs, systems and operations requirements, legal/compliance implications
    • Collect and document business requirements, conduct requirements reviews and develop subject matter expertise
    • Review system documentation for relevance to business requirements
    • Participate in end user testing to validate functionality vs. requirements
  • Project Management:
    • Develop and Execute an overall project plan
    • Communicate project status and escalate issues as appropriate
    • Support and influence rollout planning and coordination
    • Conduct post-project evaluations
    • Coordinate rollout/launch
    • Maintain issues lists and resolve outstanding issues
    • Build consensus among project team in support of the development process
  • Relationship Management:
    • Build effective partnerships across the business and technology to ensure the needs of the business and overall project are met
    • Identify key stakeholders and facilitate resolution of issues related to the product development process
  • Time Management:
    • Responsible for the timely completion of all assigned tasks and deliverables as defined by the project schedule


3. GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience
  • At least 5 years financial services experience including business analysis and project management
  • College degree required
  • Experience in software development and testing preferred


Skills/Knowledge
  • Solid analytical skills including facilitating requirements gathering using techniques including JAD/JAR, use cases
  • Experience writing detailed requirements documents, user stories
  • Ability to produce deliverables independently
  • Excellent analytic, problem solving, business judgment and organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a matrixed environment, across multiple and diverse business and systems groups
  • Strong management, influence and leadership skills
  • Solid understanding of formal development methodologies (i.e. Waterfall, Agile/Scrum)
  • Excellent written and oral communications
  • Ability to understand technical systems documentation and interact with systems resources
