Position Summary JOB SUMMARYResponsible for development of key business relationships with existing domestic and international customers in military market as well as expanding growth to commercial market. Extremely customer facing role and go-to for the customer for appointed product line. Has primary responsibility for identifying and developing opportunities for business expansion. Acts as liaison with government agencies (Defense) and offices as well as potential reps and distributors. Supports senior management team to develop marketing strategy and tactics to capture targeted programs and achieve company business goals and objectives.
Provides advice and guidance to the other functional departments to ensure overall product and market effectiveness. Works closely with Engineering and Program Management to ensure practical application of technology to new product and market development.
SUPERVISESNo direct supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Directs the management of all phases from bid/no bid to program Kick Off. May require program management support as needed.
- Coordinates proposal preparation.
- Establish and maintain contacts to ensure conformance to customer requirements.
- Directs the integration of a program management team which may include: purchasing, engineering, quality assurance, manufacturing, and administrative functional areas.
- Prepares bids, process specifications, test and progress reports and other exhibits that may be required.
- Acts as liaison between company and customers
- Prepares and maintains updates of awards forecast as directed.
- Bias for action and collaborative approach with all stakeholders
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering from four-year college or university preferred; four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be eligible to obtain DoD Security Clearance if needed.
30-50% travel is expected.
Candidates must be 'U.S. Persons' (e.g., U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident).
Must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEEngineering background is preferred with an M.S. or MBA a plus. Experience should include managing contracts with DoD and major prime contractors. Proposal preparation and FAR knowledge and experience desired. Professional certificate a plus. Associate will be required to obtain Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute within 6 months of date of hire.
Requires working knowledge of military/aerospace industry standards. Experience preparing Status Reports, proposals desired, as well as contract management and export administration experience.
