Full Job Description
As a Building Services Department Manager, you will lead facility operations, infrastructure, and building services at our Lawrence Production Center. You'll be responsible for ensuring a safe, reliable, and compliant facility environment while overseeing capital improvement projects, contracted services, and emergency response planning. You'll manage facility resources and budgets, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support uninterrupted manufacturing operations. You'll develop talent and align resources to meet the evolving needs of the site.
The Building Services Department Manager will:
• Lead facility operations and building services, ensuring the safety, functionality, and reliability of plant buildings, utilities, HVAC systems, grounds, and site infrastructure.
• Oversee capital construction, renovation, and facility improvement projects while ensuring projects meet budget, schedule, and quality expectations.
• Manage vendor relationships and contracted services including janitorial, groundskeeping, pest control, waste management, security, and specialized building trades.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, fire codes, permits, inspections, and corporate facility standards.
• Serve as the Facility Emergency Coordinator, leading site preparedness and response for emergencies, severe weather, utility outages, and other facility-related incidents.
• Develop and manage operating and capital budgets while supporting long-term facility planning and asset lifecycle management.
• Lead and develop Building Specialists and HVAC Specialists while partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Security, and EHS teams.
The role may require occasional weekend or after-hours work, depending on business needs.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS The following is required to be considered for this role:
• Bachelor's Degree or four years of demonstrated management experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Four years of experience in building operations.
• Four years of experience managing front-line employees.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Good aptitude for utilizing business applications and systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Your resume and application will stand out if you have:

• Demonstrated experience managing emergency situations and facility-related incidents.
• Experience overseeing facility operations in a manufacturing, industrial, or commercial environment.

• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop individuals and teams.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and vendor management skills.
