Position OverviewKiewit Industrial & Water Engineering is seeking a Building Mechanical Engineer for the Kiewit Architecture and Engineering (KAE) group. We are looking for ideal candidates to grow the Kiewit team by helping establish, maintain, and improve company standards and tools while also utilizing these standards and tools to contribute to project success. Candidates shall be familiar with current drawing and technical tools, programs, and software with an understanding of design documentation creation and layouts. Candidates shall be capable of exhibiting flexibility in work assignments while maintaining a growth mindset and continuing to develop in their technical and professional career.
LocationThis position is based in our Lone Tree, CO office.
Responsibilities- Have a basic understanding of building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Become familiar with building codes and standards for the design of building MEP systems.
- Under the guidance of other engineers, support the system design concept, equipment sizing, equipment selection, system controls, and the finalized design for industrial buildings and administration buildings including: offices, server/computer rooms, warehouses, F type industrial, H type industrial, and Class I, Division 1 & 2.
- Under the guidance of other engineers, prepare production drawings and specifications for building-related lighting, power, HVAC, and plumbing systems that will be used in deliverable packages sent to sub-contractors for bidding.
- Assist with technical bid analysis reviews.
- Verify HVAC and plumbing installation/construction compliance with engineering specifications and plan requirements, and coordinate shop drawings and other equipment submittals during construction administration.
- Check and navigate 3D models for review of interferences and constructability during design and construction administration.
Qualifications- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architectural Engineering (with an MEP focus) or Mechanical Engineering
- GPA above 3.0 preferred
- Passed FE exam is a plus
- 0-2 years of industry experience
- Familiar with Revit and AutoCAD
- Familiarity with Trane Trace 700 or Carrier HAP is a plus
- Self-starter that can integrate with various engineering design disciplines.

Base Compensation: $84,000/yr - $93,000/yr
