Responsibilities

Full Job Description
Responsibilities

  • Inspects buildings for fire and life safety and fire protection systems to determine their compliance with local or international building codes.
  • Buildings include Commercial, Industrial, Residential, and Hospitality sectors.
  • Fire protection systems include fire suppression and fire detection and alarm systems.
  • Reads and interprets building codes, technical manuals, drawings, instructions, and specifications.
  • Identifies records and reports all deviations using tools provided.
  • Involves travel and meeting and communicating with building owners and managers regarding codes, inspection procedures, and other issues pertaining to code compliance programs and services; responds to questions, complaints and/or requests for information; and explains and interprets policies and procedures, ordinances and codes.
  • Follows up to verify that corrections of violations have been made and takes appropriate action to ensure compliance.
  • Maintains a comprehensive, current knowledge of applicable codes, regulations, and standards; reviews new codes and changes to existing codes; maintains an awareness of new methods, materials, trends and advances in the profession; reads professional literature; maintains professional affiliations; attends seminars, workshops, and training sessions as appropriate.
  • The Job requires business integrity, high ethical and safety compliance and adherence is paramount.
  • The job involves travelling and meeting Building owners/client.
  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

Qualifications

  • ICC Combo commercial Inspector certification
  • Certified Electrical Plans Examiner
  • Knowledge to interpret building codes and ability to identify non-compliant installations as essential.
  • Good verbal communication skills with customers.
  • Must have excellent computer skills.

Home Based Position - Candidate preferred to be located close to airport due to travel requirements

What we offer:
  • Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career . The estimated salary range for this position is $85,000 to $95,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
