Tutor Perini Civil-East is seeking a Building General Superintendent to join our project site in Midtown Manhattan, NY, NY

Job Description:

Project Oversight & Coordination
  • Manage day-to-day construction operations for the bus terminal project, including structures, platforms, passenger facilities, and associated infrastructure.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, trades, suppliers, and site personnel to ensure efficient workflow and sequencing of activities.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and inspectors to maintain alignment with project goals.

Scheduling & Planning
  • Develop and maintain short-term and long-term construction schedules.
  • Monitor progress and adjust plans to address delays or unforeseen conditions.
  • Ensure timely delivery and staging of materials and equipment.

Safety Management
  • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations on-site.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings, site inspections, and hazard assessments.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices at all times.

Quality Control
  • Ensure all work meets project specifications, codes, and quality standards.
  • Conduct inspections and coordinate with quality control personnel.
  • Address deficiencies and implement corrective actions promptly.

Site Management
  • Oversee site logistics, including access roads, traffic control, staging areas, and security.
  • Manage site utilities, temporary structures, and environmental controls.
  • Maintain organized and efficient job site conditions.

Stakeholder Communication
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for owners, consultants, inspectors, and local agencies.
  • Provide regular updates on progress, challenges, and milestones.
  • Participate in project meetings and reporting.


Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in civil or commercial construction, with at least 5 years in a superintendent role.
  • Experience with transportation infrastructure projects (bus terminals, transit centers, or similar) strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing construction projects valued over 250 million.
  • Proficient in construction management software and scheduling tools. OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification. First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Additional certifications (e.g., NCCER, LEED) are a plus.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
