  • Ensure compliance with codes while managing building HVAC, power supplies, generators, and fire prevention systems.
  • Maintain operations of critical data center systems 24/7.
  • Be part of an on-call emergency response team for critical systems.
  • Assist in strategic maintenance planning and coordination with project personnel.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.

Who We Are

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a Building Facility Systems Engineer to be a part of the team responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and technical readiness of program and facility equipment.
Requires a DoD secret level security clearance to start. Relocation is available should the most qualified candidate chosen reside out of state.

What You Will Do

  • This multi-skilled position will be responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment on all systems (e.g., Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, and Central Utility Plant Operations)
  • Responsible for high levels of customer satisfaction through direct customer interface. Mentors Navy mechanical and electrical technicians on building systems
  • Operate facility's mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) infrastructure, centralized utility plant, computer room air handlers, interrupted power supplies, building HVAC, generators, fire prevention and Building Management Systems in compliance with applicable codes and regulations
  • Operate, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot all Mechanical and Electrical Systems supporting Building and 24x7 Critical Data Center
  • Be part of an on-call rotation for weekends and nights and quickly respond to critical system emergencies
  • Assist with strategic maintenance planning, Capital projects, coordinate with project personnel i.e. contractors and Facilities Manager
  • Other duties as needed and required


What We Are Looking For

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot, maintenance and repair experience on Heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) and Building Automation System (BAS)
  • Experience/working knowledge of add-on, replacement and retrofit for installation of small and large HVAC equipment (i.e. Chillers, pumps, and controls)
  • Knowledge on developing and coordination preventative maintenance programs to ensure reliability and safety or equipment.
  • Experience/knowledge with mechanical and electrical infrastructure and design
  • Proficient with written and verbal communication to manage equipment library/data log and communication effectively with customer
  • Active DoD Secret clearance, with ability to obtain/maintain DoD Top Secret Clearance within a year of employment
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain base access credentials
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen


Preferred: Bonus Points For...

  • Experience working with & troubleshooting the following controls systems is a plus: Johnson Controls Inc. Metasys, Schneider Electric I/A Series Controls (BACnet) Tridium Niagara Framework
  • Expert knowledge of applicable standards such as ASHRAE, OSHA, NFPA, NEC highly desired

Office, industrial or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving of materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one man lift.
