About the Position

As part of projects carried out directly with a major client in the aerospace industry, Pratt & Whitney Canada, we are seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer (Building Systems) to join a dedicated project office team based in Longueuil.

The successful candidate will primarily be involved in projects within existing facilities, working in an active and complex industrial environment. This role requires strong analytical skills, technical rigor, and a high level of autonomy to assess existing conditions and develop practical, tailored solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering
  • Design building electrical systems for projects in existing facilities (power distribution, lighting, equipment power supply, auxiliary systems)
  • Perform technical studies, load calculations, and capacity analyses
  • Develop engineering solutions adapted to site constraints
  • Prepare or review drawings, technical specifications, and engineering documentation
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards, including the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)

Field Work & Site Surveys
  • Conduct site surveys to validate existing electrical installations
  • Analyze current conditions and identify technical constraints
  • Support the integration of field data into design solutions

Coordination & Project Support
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, structural, architectural)
  • Coordinate with project managers, technicians, and client representatives
  • Participate in coordination and site meetings
  • Provide technical support during construction and implementation phases

Profile

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in building electrical systems
  • Experience working on projects in existing facilities (strong asset)
  • Experience in an industrial environment (asset)

Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of building electrical systems, including:
    • Low and medium voltage distribution
    • Lighting and control systems
    • Equipment power supply
  • Solid understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit is an asset)
