Responsibilities - Leading the engineering design of bridge projects for state and local DOTs
- Leading Bridge focused projects or acting as bridge lead on transportation projects.
- Coordinating design with other disciplines and subconsultants.
- Communicating with the client on deliverables, schedules, and budgets.
- Preparing plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports, and calculations necessary for a complete deliverable package to the client.
- Interacting with the client including preparing communications and other documentation.
- Mentoring and training younger engineers on bridge and other structural design.
- Serving as a Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Subject Matter Expert (SME) for reviewing deliverables.
- Supporting the Client during Bid Phase and Construction including answering Requests for Information (RFI), preparing addenda and plan revisions.
- Leading marketing efforts including, proposal writing, client interaction, and public engagements.
- Leading contracting and fee negotiations.
Requirements- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain license through reciprocity.
- Ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of relevant transportation design project delivery experience that includes technical knowledge of the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
- Ability to lead a design team to meet a deliverable schedule within a defined budget.
- Good interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) proficiency.
Preferred Skills- 5 - 10 years of previous experience as a consultant working with DOT's or county/municipal clients on transportation projects.
