Full Job Description
Role Summary:

Overland AI is seeking a Brand Designer to join our Communications & Marketing (C&M) team to help build the visual identity of a company defining the future of autonomous ground systems. This role sits at the intersection of brand strategy, visual design, and production, with a mandate spanning social media, digital and print design, events, and cross-functional creative initiatives.

As a Brand Designer, you will own the visual design of Overland AI's social presence and help shape the brand across every touchpoint. You will work closely with teammates within the C&M team-content strategy, video production, and product marketing-alongside internal stakeholders across software, hardware, and business development to turn complex technology into sharp, compelling visuals that resonate with end users, customers, partners, investors, and the broader public.

This is a hands-on role for a designer who loves typography, layout, and brand systems. You will be responsible not only for creating polished, production-ready work, but also for developing templates, design systems, and creative directions that help the team move quickly without sacrificing quality. At Overland AI, there is ample autonomy to navigate the environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable owning work from early concept through final delivery and thrives in a fast-moving environment where priorities evolve quickly.

Key Responsibilities:

Social Brand Ownership

  • Own the visual design of Overland AI's social presence, creating assets for campaigns, announcements, product updates, events, and recruiting.
  • Build templates and systems for fast, consistent social content production.
  • Adapt designs across platforms, formats, and aspect ratios.
  • Strategically develop templates based on narrative and content sequence.

Concept and Campaign Design

  • Develop creative ideas and visual directions for brand campaigns.
  • Create work that is clear, engaging, and consistent across channels.

Typographical and Visual Systems

  • Apply typographic skills and principles to create dynamic layouts.
  • Help improve and maintain brand guidelines and design systems.

Digital and Print Design

  • Design for social media, websites, email, presentations, signage, video, and events.
  • Execute work in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.

Production

  • Prepare accurate, production-ready files for print and digital use.
  • Manage color profiles, resolution, bleed, trim, file formats, and export settings.
  • Work with print vendors and fabricators on proofs, materials, finishing, and large-format projects.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with copywriters, content strategists, video producers, and internal teams to deliver integrated creative.
  • Work closely with social content teams to keep creative timely and aligned with company priorities.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and agencies on campaign and event deliverables.

Templates and Systems

  • Create flexible templates that help teams produce high-quality, on-brand work independently.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in brand or graphic design.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating concept development, brand, social, digital, print, typography, layout, and campaign work. Please include a portfolio link with your application.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience supporting a company's social media presence through design, ideally in a technology or fast-paced environment.
  • Strong skills in typography, layout, composition, imagery, grids, and visual storytelling.
  • Ability to create distinctive social assets for fast-moving content calendars and adapt designs across platforms.
  • Production knowledge: ability to take a design from early concept to polished, accurate final file for print or digital use.
  • Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, as well as presentation tools such as PowerPoint.
  • Ability to explain design decisions clearly, respond to feedback constructively, and collaborate effectively with creative and non-creative teammates.
  • Strong attention to detail, including typography, spacing, file organization, production requirements, and final delivery.
  • Illustration, diagramming, video storyboarding, or motion/animation skills are a plus.
