JOB DUTIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSA Branch Supervisor II directs and administers the programs to accomplish the functional task and overall development within a technical or administrative section and is responsible for the organization, tasking, prioritization, and supervision of all personnel within the section.
Employee will be responsible for the following functions/duties:
- Establish technical and procedural guidelines to meet the needs of the work unit/section in accordance with company and customer requirements
- Manage the technical performance of work assigned to the section
- Interview job candidates and make decisions or recommend personnel actions such as hiring, discipline, and termination
- Maintain current operational status information and assessments on projects, budgets, and development plans
- Evaluate and make adjustments in procedures or re-assign priorities to projects/tasks, as needed, to keep activities on schedule and within budgetary limits
- Oversee and monitor unit compliance with Quality Assurance (QA) and process improvement goals and standards
- Ensure appropriate training is provided to unit personnel to promote continuous improvement of services to the customer
- Interact and coordinate with the customer on a personal basis, as required, to ensure all customer requirements or agreements are being met
- Periodically evaluate the performance of subordinates
- Perform other job-related duties, as required
RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTIONThis position is for a Branch Supervisor Edwards AFB JT4 Range Operations. These areas include Telemetry, Microwave, Flight Vision, Flight Line ARDS, ARDS Back shop and AES PIRA Range. The incumbent of this position will be responsible for supervising a diverse group of real-time operations, maintenance, and sustainment personnel. Experience within a real-time environment supporting flight test operations is a must for a successful incumbent. Working knowledge of developmental flight test operations, weapons systems, test structures, regulations, airfield management systems and structures is highly desired.
Primary duties for this position include:
- Acting as the primary JT4 point of contact for the Range's Functional Specialists. Providing feedback, updates and reports to appointed Range personnel to include financial, project, maintenance, and operational performance for the assigned Range mission areas. Interacting and coordinating with customers on a professional basis to ensure all customer requirements and agreements are being met.
- Establishing technical, administrative, and procedural guidelines to meet the needs of the Branch in accordance with JT4 and Air Force requirements. Maintaining all technical, managerial, and operational performance requirements of the Branch.
- Establishing, evaluating, and adjusting procedures or reassigning priorities to projects/tasks as needed to ensure all activities on kept on schedule and within budgetary limits.
- Maintaining current operational status information and assessments on projects, budgets, and development plans. Proactively managing all performance measures to maintain all Range Operations capabilities.
- Providing operational, maintenance, technical, and career guidance to all personnel assigned to the Branch. Periodically evaluate the performance of all subordinate supervisors and direct reporting personnel. Interviewing and selecting highly-qualified candidates and making decisions or recommendations for discipline or termination.
The incumbent must be able to work independently, as part of a team, and as senior spokesperson for technical recommendations supporting the Range. The incumbent must possess a well-developed knowledge of project management and systems engineering principles and must have an extensive history of demonstrated success in applying this expertise within a real-time environment. The incumbent must be able to clearly define, develop, and execute engineering strategies and suggestions, targeted system upkeep, operational techniques, maintenance plans, sustainment methods, support structures, mission execution configurations, and emergency implementations for multiple critical Range systems. The applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance up to the Secret level with special access.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSPractical knowledge of aircraft telemetry, voice, and video data transmission. Knowledge in Maximo, tool control, logistics, safety, quality control, and preventative maintenance.
REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCEA bachelor's degree or a combination of equivalent formal academic, military, or technical training and related experience, or 12 years of experience in a related field and four (4) years of experience in a supervisory/lead role are required for this position.
In addition, a Branch Supervisor II must possess the following qualifications:
- In-depth working knowledge of related career fields such as technical trades or scientific and engineering professions
- In-depth knowledge of the principles of advanced management obtained through formal or self-study
- Understanding of the operational philosophy and business nature of the company
- Familiarity with computer-based management tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent planning/organizational skills
- Must possess a valid, state issued driver's license
- Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance
- Must be a U.S. citizen
SALARYThe expected salary range for this position is $135,000 to $160,000 annually.

WORKING CONDITIONSWork is primarily sedentary in an office in a Base Operations environment. Some walking, stooping, bending, climbing stairs, stretching, and lifting (up to 25 pounds) is required.
