What you'll do:

The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, financial success, and customer satisfaction of an assigned branch. This role oversees daily operations, sales support, inventory management, customer service, safety, and employee development while ensuring the branch operates efficiently and delivers exceptional service. The Branch Manager partners with leadership to drive profitable growth, operational excellence, and a culture of accountability across all areas of the business.

Branch Operations
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the branch to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable performance
  • Coordinate operational activities across sales, warehouse, yard, production, delivery, inventory, customer service, and administrative functions
  • Monitor workflow, productivity, inventory levels, and customer satisfaction to achieve operational goals
  • Implement process improvements that increase efficiency, service quality, and profitability
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional branch facilities

Leadership & Employee Development
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, coach, develop, and retain high-performing team members
  • Establish performance expectations and hold employees accountable for results
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and professional development
  • Foster a culture centered on teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Partner with Human Resources on employee relations, workforce planning, and performance management

Sales & Customer Experience
  • Promote exceptional customer service across all branch operations
  • Support sales growth by partnering with Inside Sales, Outside Sales, and operations teams
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, contractors, and business partners
  • Assist with resolving escalated customer concerns and implementing long-term solutions
  • Identify opportunities to expand customer relationships and increase market share

Financial & Operational Performance
  • Manage branch budgets, expenses, labor utilization, and key performance indicators
  • Monitor branch profitability and identify opportunities to improve financial performance
  • Review operational reports and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Partner with Accounting to support receivables, payables, inventory controls, and financial accuracy
  • Ensure efficient use of company assets, equipment, and resources

Inventory & Asset Management
  • Oversee inventory management and inventory accuracy initiatives
  • Ensure proper receiving, storage, handling, and movement of inventory
  • Monitor inventory investment while maintaining product availability
  • Support cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory control processes
  • Oversee maintenance and readiness of company facilities and equipment

Safety & Compliance
  • Promote and maintain a safety-first culture throughout the branch
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT (where applicable), environmental regulations, and company policies
  • Conduct routine safety meetings, inspections, and operational reviews
  • Investigate accidents, injuries, and near misses while implementing corrective actions
  • Ensure employees receive required training and utilize appropriate PPE

Strategic Leadership
  • Partner with regional leadership to execute business objectives and growth initiatives
  • Support acquisitions, branch integrations, and operational improvement projects
  • Represent QXO professionally within the local community and industry
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen customer satisfaction and operational performance
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

  • Experience managing inventory, operations, sales support, and customer service functions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP systems, CRM platforms, and operational reporting tools
  • Valid driver's license
  • Combination of office, warehouse, yard, manufacturing, and customer-facing environments
  • Frequent interaction with employees, customers, vendors, contractors, and leadership
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout operational facilities
  • Occasional lifting of materials or equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Occasional travel to customer locations, branch facilities, or regional meetings
  • May require extended hours based on business needs
