The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Sales, Western Canada, the Board Manager & Key Accounts, Canada Adult Use is responsible for leading the organization's wholesale sales strategy with provincial cannabis boards, government distributors, and other regulated wholesale channels. This role develops and maintains strategic relationships with provincial buying authorities, drives revenue growth, manages product listings, oversees sales forecasting, and collaborates cross-functionally to maximize market penetration and brand performance.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of the Canadian cannabis industry, provincial purchasing processes, regulatory requirements, category management, and commercial sales strategies.

Responsibilities

Strategic Sales Management

  • Develop and execute provincial board sales strategies to achieve revenue and market share objectives.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with provincial cannabis board, government wholesalers, and key decision-makers.

  • Identify new business opportunities and maximize product distribution across assigned provincial markets.

  • Lead annual business planning and quarterly account reviews with provincial partners.

  • Negotiate listings, promotional opportunities, pricing, and commercial agreements.

Account Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned provincial board.

  • Manage customer expectations while ensuring exceptional service levels.

  • Monitor customer performance metrics and develop action plans to achieve growth targets.

  • Resolve customer issues efficiently while maintaining strong relationships.

Product & Category Management

  • Coordinate product submissions for new listings and innovation launches.

  • Collaborate with Marketing, Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs, and Product Development to ensure successful product launches.

  • Analyze category trends, competitive activity, and market performance to recommend portfolio improvements.

Sales Planning & Forecasting

  • Develop accurate sales forecasts and product category.

  • Work closely with Operations and Supply Chain to align production with customer demand.

  • Monitor inventory levels and identify opportunities to minimize out-of-stock situations.

  • Prepare sales budgets and track performance against targets.

Market Intelligence

  • Monitor industry trends, consumer insights, competitive activity, and provincial purchasing strategies.

  • Analyze market data to identify opportunities for growth.

  • Present business insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Marketing to develop promotional programs that support provincial sales initiatives.

  • Work with Regulatory Affairs to ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations.

  • Collaborate with Finance on pricing strategy, profitability analysis, and customer performance.

  • Support Product Development by providing customer and market feedback.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Prepare sales reports.

  • Track KPIs including:

    • Revenue growth

    • Market share

    • Distribution gains

    • Product listings

    • Forecast accuracy

    • Gross margin

    • Customer performance

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce, or a related field.

  • 5–8+ years of progressive sales or key account management experience.

  • Experience working within the Canadian cannabis industry, beverage alcohol, CPG, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industries preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience managing provincial board or government wholesale accounts.

  • Proven record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.

  • Knowledge of health Canada cannabis regulations and provincial compliance requirements.

  • Exceptional presentation and communication skill in both French and English

Other Details

This is a full-time position remotely based out of British Columbia.

Salary range - $85,000 - $100,000
