Position at Community Options, Inc.

We are now seeking a Full Time Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in Bowie, MD. The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) uses best practices and technologies within a community setting to assist youth with acquiring, retaining, improving and generalizing the behavioral, self-help, socialization, relational, and communication skills needed to enhance relationships, and increase independence and functioning. Targeted approaches will assist individuals in regulating emotional and behavioral responses, developing meaningful relationships, and effectively understanding and expressing their needs to the best of their ability, which will aid in the successful transition to less intensive community services.

Salary Amount: $90,000 annually

Responsibilities
  • Implement behavioral support interventions and activities based on individual needs and ongoing assessment; frequency and duration may decrease or vary throughout the stay
  • Provide Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) - Functional Behavioral Assessment and development of a Behavioral Support Plan
  • Supervise RVT/Behavior Support Specialist staff as needed
  • Implement the individualized Behavior Support Plan
  • Provide Positive Behavioral Supports
  • Provide training and supervision to support staff providing ABA services
  • Provide direct supervision of the behavior technicians as required by Board Certification standards
  • Modify the Behavioral Support Plan based on frequent, systematic evaluation of direct observational data
  • Provide coordinated support with program staff and participate as part of the clinical team
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
  • Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing

Minimum Requirements
  • Master's level Board Certified Behavioral Analyst
  • Must obtain RBT credentials if not already obtained
  • Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with the youth and their families
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and remain calm in a crisis
  • Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written forms
