Position Summary
The BIM Manager - Electrical Construction is responsible for leading BIM processes, managing electrical modeling teams, and supporting project operations through advanced 3D modeling and coordination.
This position works closely with:

- Superintendents
- Engineers

- QA/QC Teams
- Architects
- Clients
- Other Trades
The BIM Manager ensures projects are coordinated efficiently, BIM standards are maintained, and models are delivered accurately and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
BIM Leadership & Coordination
- Lead BIM and VDC operations for electrical construction projects
- Ensure all BIM Modelers follow project BIM Execution Plans
- Manage BIM workflows, standards, file structure, and documentation
- Support project teams in understanding and utilizing BIM models effectively
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other trades
Modeling & Design
- Develop and manage 2D drawings and 3D electrical models
- Create 3D models from sketches, proposals, and construction documents
- Produce clash detection reports and coordination drawings
- Support MEP coordination efforts in Autodesk-based environments
- Create detailed construction and installation drawings
Project Support & Quality Control
- Conduct QA/QC reviews of BIM models and drawings
- Ensure project deliverables are accurate and completed on time
- Manage BIM budgets and hardware/software needs
- Oversee BIM file storage, documentation, and project setup
- Create BIM-related scopes of work and project standards
Team Leadership
- Mentor and support BIM Modelers and BIM Coordinators
- Ensure BIM teams have the tools and training needed for success
- Help drive innovation and continuous improvement within BIM operations
Qualifications
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of BIM Modeling experience preferred
- Minimum of 3 years leadership experience preferred
- Experience in electrical construction, MEP coordination, or VDC environments
- Strong understanding of commercial or industrial construction processes
Education
- Associate Degree or Technical School Certification preferred
- Equivalent experience may be considered
Software & Technical Skills
Strong experience with:
- Autodesk Revit
- AutoCAD
- BIM Collaborate Pro
- Autodesk Construction Cloud
- Microsoft Word & Excel
Preferred knowledge of:
- NEC (National Electrical Code)
- Electrical systems and design
- Construction documentation and coordination
- MEP systems and clash detection

Work Environment
This is primarily an office-based role with occasional jobsite visits that may require:
- Working in varying weather conditions
- Navigating active construction environments
- Wearing required PPE
- Standing and walking for extended periods

Overtime may be required based on project demands.
